Can I modify the VTOC to change the attributes of a file? .. how? Someone has done it ..? I will be grateful for any help. Thanks. Alvaro. Can you read the PDSE? If so, then I'd strongly suggest that you simply allocate a new PDSE and copy the contents of the old one into it. Then delete the old PDSE and rename the new one to have the old one's name. The only other way is to use AMASPZAP to zap the VTOC. Re: ADR793E -PDSE indicators in the VTOC and VVDS do not match
This is really a [EMAIL PROTECTED] guess here, and may need Mark Thomen to chime in here. It sounds like you might have a duplicate NVR in the VVDS on the volume. Try to salvage what you can from the PDSE in question by copying it to another dataset with a different name on a different volume. Delete the PDSE in question. Then, use IDCAMS to print the VVDS. Search the VVDS printout for the dataset name of the PDSE that you just deleted. If it's not there, then this is not your problem. If it is there, you should be able to do a DELETE dataset NVR FILE(xxx) to correct this situation for the next time. (Point a DD card xxx to the volser in question.) If you do have a duplicate NVR, and can't identify how it got there, you should still open a PMR, since something is wrong, and this problem will only crop up again. And, if you can identify how it got there, you now know not to do (whatever you did) again! -- For IBM-MAIN subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the message: GET IBM-MAIN INFO Search the archives at http://bama.ua.edu/archives/ibm-main.html
