Re: intermittent errors using FTP program Interface EZAFTPKS
IND$FILE IBM 3270 File Transfer was originally a Field Developed Program. Exploits 3270 Structured Data Fields. Earliest versions, when running, would use visible screen full displays of data which the emulator could grab and store when downloading, or vice versa when uploading. Later versions made the data transfers invisible to the screen, and supported data segment sizes larger than actual screen size. IBM 3270 File Transfer V2 supported Chinese and Korean langages using the APVUFILE program. Tom Brennan's Vista TN3270 supports IND$FILE transfers. Both products were stabilized. Question about memory usage under z/OS 2.2
This is one of those situation where you hear people say "we have run this way for a long time". Well we have started to see issues with the world of Vtam and TCP/IP around memory usage. We are running z/OS 2.2. We now have several open PMRs with IBM related to memory issues. We had OMPROUTE go down with an S878 and we have seen issues with running out of CSM fixed storage. We have also seen TCP/IP get an S4C5. Have other people seen an increase in memory usage for the Communication Server environments? Thanks.. UID purpose (fresh HCD enhancement)
Recent ehnancement to HCD introduced new field for functions: UID. According to documentation UID is arbitrary number, which has to be unique within CPC and it is checked by LPARs with (also new) UID flag. However the Function ID is already unique, so what is the reason to have another field with unique value?
