Thanks, Sam.

But it's 2023. Can't the "articles" folder (also) contain a single ZIP file, so
that all the contents can be downloaded in one file? Thanks.

In addition to RACF, there is a layer of security rules refresh within OPSMVS
itself.
Don't know the specifics of it, but the OPS/MVS docs will surely cover it.

I do RACF in Batch so that it (almost) self-documents and is repeatable.

Re: VS Pascal documentation on ibm.com?

2023-02-22 Thread Farley, Peter
An offline email I received also pointed me to this IBM documentation portal:

https://www.ibm.com/resources/publications

Where search term "VS PASCAL" gets you to all but one of the program product VS
Pascal manuals (the licensed material manual "VS PASCAL DIAGNOSIS GUIDE AND
REFERENCE" is listed on the IBM site but is not available for download).

Interestingly, the IBM portal downloads appear to be OCR-scanned copies like
those at bitsavers.org rather than PDF's constructed from the original paper
documentation sources.

Thanks to all for your help.

I do not see why you'd to know who I am - how does that affect the answer?

I've been reading and posting on IBM-mainframe mail lists/newsgroups for -

who (amongst other things) worked on SA/390 automation. If you don't
believe it, search for me on LinkedIn.

I'm asking because I've been following the thread and was somewhat amazed

Recently I received a request to put my (over 230) articles about
MVS Systems Programming, directly online.  They had previously resided
(and still reside) on CBT Tape Files 014 and 120, which are in zipped
XMIT-format, and therefore they are not so readily accessible.  So I
finally did it.  The older articles also had outdated email addresses
and URL's, which I tried to correct as well (as much as possible).

So these articles can now be found on www.cbttape.org/xephon (sorry
about that), and then you click on sgolob.articles to see them all.

I certainly hope that these articles will contribute to people's
system programming knowledge, at all levels, and I'm grateful to Shmuel
Metz, who suggested that I do this.

All the best of everything to all of you.

Sincerely,    Sam
