FW: CA DADS Product

2013-12-11 Thread Mingee, David
Has anyone heard that CA is dropping support or sales for CA Product DADS Plus
for CICS?

I called CA to inquire and have not received a response.

Re: Dynamic Allocation error in CA-Endevor

2013-02-05 Thread Mingee, David
I found this in QuickRef - A dynamic allocation error occurred for the named
data set. Refer to the
appropriate IBM documentation for your operating system for a definition
of the return and reason codes. If DDname and DSname are blank; then the
data set that failed to allocate is C1SORTIO, which is dynamically
 allocated.

We've got a weird one. The tester is getting a dynamic allocation error.
The message from Endevor is:
C1A0010E ALLOCATION ERROR RC=9700-03E9, DDNAME=

I can find the 9700. But I can't find any 03E9 in any IBM manual. Also, I don't
know why the DDNAME is blank. From looking at the SCL processor, each time
the DSN is referenced, it is the only DSN in the DD statement.
All the related message are:

09:51:10 C1A0010E ALLOCATION ERROR RC=9700-03E9, DDNAME=
09:51:10 C1A0011E IKJ56894I DATA SET SYS13036.T095110.RA0.TSH012.COBLST
NOT ALLOCATED+
09:51:10 C1A0012E IKJ56894I STORAGE MANAGEMENT SUBSYSTEM DETECTED AN ERROR,
EITHER MESSAGES WERE NOT REQUESTED OR A SYSTEM ERROR

I'm at a loss. The only thing that I can try from here is to do a GTF trace of
SVC 99. Which I'd prefer not doing.

Re: Any CA Endevor tutorial | training - low or no cost?

2013-01-30 Thread Mingee, David
Hi John,
One option is to join an Endevor USERS Group. Also, I would happy to
help off line.

Subject: Any CA Endevor tutorial | training - low or no cost?

The company for which I currently work decided to release all the CA Endevor
knowledgeable people. Our product control people know how to do moves. The
programmers know how to create packages for moving. But nobody knows how to
add or update any of the infrastructure things such as processors My manager
is very CA literate and so he's been reading over the books. His manager
apparently feels that you have the CA supplied books, that should be
sufficient to learn everything you need to know!

So, given the above, does anybody know of any free or inexpensive (since it
will come out of my pocket) training for CA Endevor? One of the guys in our
group may get some free training from his wife, because she does Endevor work
for another company (after she was released from this one).

Re: FREEVOL=EOV on R1.13

2013-01-08 Thread Mingee, David
I tried on different LPARs.

Mark, I noticed the item you mentioned, but it was not processing. Also, I
entered R, NO and I entered cancel on other tests. All Tests behaved the same
way - no multi - processing. One coworker suggested that maybe we need to
specify SER=(H38479,xx,xx,xx) ??? That seems unreasonable, but I
will test that option later today.

I believe the jobs need to be on different systems...doc seems to indicate
that.

H25146, the 2nd volume was dismounted at 23:10, but someone already
replied NO to IEF235D which canceled JOB 2.
