Having an awareness that the model of mainframe management begun in the 60s (and still in place today) is changing will help to ensure that people aren't surprised by the change. It will also help raise awareness of the challenges (both to you and to IBM) waiting in the wings. For those who want to talk online about zEnterprise generally, IBM-MAIN and [really?] Systemz Mainframe on Facebook probably have better visibility within the relevant circles in IBM that does IBMVM. Re: PROBLEMS WITH DEDICATE DASD IN z/VM 6.1
I'm migrating from version of z/VM 5.3 to z/VM 6.1 and I have virtual machines on dedicated disks, In the process of migrating a person of a foreign company mentioned that there are problems with dasd's dedicates in z /VM 6.1 This assertion does not convince me and so my question. Thanks for your help Mike. Victor Hugo Ochoa Avila 2011/6/2 Mike Walter mike.wal...@aonhewitt.com z/VM is pretty much always upward compatible, so dedicated DASD should work the same.
