RE: [IceHorses] Coverall
I wonder why the other companys are less expensive. In photos they all look alike. V That's a good question. I don't know anything about those type buildings. Sometimes you get what you pay for...but when we were looking at building our barn about 1995-1996, we got about 4-5 quotes. The Morton quote was at least twice what the company we went with was, and actually, I liked some of the features in our barn better. It pays to check around, check references, and go see examples of each I guess. I've never regretted going with the builder we used. Not much help about Coveralls though! The one Robyn and Phil have is just great for riding, clinics, etc. I really enjoyed it when I was up there. Ferne Fedeli

Hi Virginia >>>Does anyone have a Coverall riding arena and/or barn? They look like they'd be a nice, bright building for indoor riding. Just wondering about the cost, how people like them, etc. I didn't see anyone answer this but we have had one for 7 or 8 years. We put up the first one in this valley and we are very happy with it. Ours is a small on 50' x 100' and the sides roll up which is great here in the summer as it can get really hot. There are quite a few other similar companies now that might be less money - ours was a very good price - about 40,000.00 erected I think, but I know the prices have gone up since then. They are incredibly bright - you actually need sunglasses in the summer but are also bright in the winter and our blue sides act like solar panels and help warm it up. I've noticed that there are other brands besides Coverall but they all look the same to mehow does one know which is better? V ... We have a Cover-All and love it. The quality is very good but I think the local dealer has a great influence our satisfaction. All buildings need maintenance and our local Cover-all dealer makes a point of sending people out each spring to do an inspection and tighten where needed or point out things I need to take care of. My guess is that the various fabric buildings are similar to each other. Some features from one brand being superior in one and the reverse for other brands. My suggestion is to find local dealers of any buildings you are considering and ask where you can visit structures they have put up. Ideally you want to see some that have a few years use on them to see how they stand up to your weather. Ask the customers what they like and what they might have done differently. Someone mentioned fencing in the Cover-all. We used 4" Spur brand Polymer fencing in on the inside attached to the actual trusses. There are tensioners on each end. Outside we have wooden rail fencing. Phil Icelandic Horse Farm Robyn Hood & Phil Pretty Vernon BC Canada www.icefarm.com

I would want to make sure they could not gain access to the sidesa nice pipe rail would work nicely on the 2 sides where the walls come down.if you get one make sure and situate it so that you either have the walls blocking your wind or not, depending on your needsit is nice and light inside, the lighting was great, and the ceiling is very very highvery expansive and dry. The only complaint I had was that snow would slide off it now and then and cause a crash. It was heated throughout with radiant heat bars... Wanda
