Oh gosh, I didn't know. But I have to say: You Rock!!
With a spirit like that, no doubt you'll be in the
saddle again!!

I know what you mean; when I first got Hnisa, I was
told not to ride because of a neck injury (for which I
later had surgery). So, we took lots and lots of
walks over, around and through Linda's property. I
would sometimes just sit on the ground next to her and
watch her eat. Truth be known, I would sometimes read
to her (she loved my book of Cowboy Poetry). Anything
to spend time with her. I waited since I was 4 years
old to have my first horse (I got her when I was 50!),
so you can imagine my need to just look at her!!

You lucky lady!! I would love to have another ice
pony someday.

They sound absolutely precious... with personality. I
like that term pocket pony...

Definitely Yeah!!

Isn't that the truth!! I am having separation
anxiety!! Her winter coat is coming in a little, and
is at the point of what I call "the best kind of
stuffed animal." I love getting my arms around that!!

Only if they were walking! lolI haven't ridden in quite a while and
would love to be
good enough for a show. I'm handicapped and refuse to give up hopes to
ride again.
But I have attended that show to cheer on fellow NorCal members in the
past, so it's not
a complete impossibility.

Ditto. Because of that advice I spent much time with Faxi at first,
simply observing and bonding. I learned so much in that.
I haven't been able to ride (but plan to), yet simply get so much joy
just hanging out with him. He's been an only child for several years
now, so it's really hard now learning how to 'have' two. Riddari is so
adorable and wants to be a pocket pony and Faxi only allows him alloted
time with 'his' human. Well, I guess that's progress.at least now
he's not chasing him out of the pasture anymore. I was just about to
finally send Judy some photos when all hell broke loose. I'll wait till
she gets settled. I got an email from her last night. Yeah!

I'm sure you can't wait to see your own sweet mare.

Bernadette, I think we have met - I bought Hnisa from
Lin Campbell who I have been friends with since
college days (almost 30 years ago!). My daughter and
I were at the Monterey Gaited Horse show 4 years ago
with Lin. We met a bunch of ladies from the NorCal
Icelandic Group - could you have been one of them?

I know what you mean - Judy is so positive and forward
thinking about horses - one of the first and most
important things I learned from her was to ask, "WHY?"
in relation to everything in the horse world. That
advice has been invaluable.

News today looks like that should happen soon. It
will be wonderful to have her back!!

Well I'll bet all will be anxious to get home. Wish there was something
we could do. I'm in Gilroy; but Judy has been such a special friend
and encourager and mentor to me with Faxi and also with my newest
addition, Riddari who just was delivered up to me from Escondido a month
ago. Phew. Judy has encouraged and taught and encouraged and taught
(some of us are a little slower than others), I could never thank her
nor survive without her patience and support. I pray she will be
settled soon.
