I am really closer to living in L.A. than Florida... LA as in "Lower Alabama".

That is too funny Susan. I live in Apache Junction,
AZ. East of Pheonix about 30 miles. It is very
scenic. Those are the Superstion Mnt. There was a
article about them in Western Horseman a month ago.
Yee Ha. Actually. John Wayne had a ranch around here
years ago. Funny..

what a picture! What a day for you Lorraine! I am in florida in my
bunny slippers and frosty snowman sleep pants at the moment and it is
27 degrees outside. All my horses but the icelandics have on their
hugh hefner robes. I am loading up Gallant Boy and Tivar as soon as
it warms up a bit and taking them to the farm GB came from so he can
eat grass and hopefully put on weight, and I am gonna ride tivar on
the country roads. I wonder tho if its gonna warm up?? we may just
have to do hula hoop olympics in the yard. Film at eleven!

That is one beautiful horse, and a beautiful scene. I'm envious of your

It is a Barefoot Arizona. I a made sure that it isn't poking him in the
flanks like my other western saddle was. It is floppy like Karen
said. And it isn't pinching him around the withers. Lorraine

I have seen much bigger saddles on Icelandics on the website. We
are comfortable and that is good. Lorraine

Unfortunately, you can't put the extra-wide gullet plate in it, so it
won't work for extra-wide horses.

Those Wintec stock saddles are simply too long for a lot of Icelandic's
short backs. And I don't know of many Icelandics that can go in a merely
"wide" gullet - all I know will just barely fit in an extra-wide, or are off
the Wintec scale altogether. I used to like Wintecs, but I've all but given
up on them for Icelandics.

-Hi Laree. I'm not sure what kind of horse he's riding,
but if it' not an overly wide horse, you may want to check out a
Wintec Australian Stock Saddle with swinging fenders.

I am working with a husband and wife right now and just recommended
this saddle for the husband (and more importantly, his horse - an
arab/welsh mix). The guy needs something secure, but doesn't like a
horn. He also will only ride western style. The equisuede material
is very grippy. And the saddle is very adjustable to fit a variety
of horses. Unfortunately, you can't put the extra-wide gullet plate
in it, so it won't work for extra-wide horses.
