I had planned on watching this at work tomorrow.

Watched the video at lunch. Very good example of 'finished'
behaviors. Interesting about the hostile comments. I guess that if
you enjoy bullying your horse as a training method, non-bullying
examples either must be dismissed as not viable or you have to look at
your reasons for using harsher methods.

Anna, did you hear what Van said about the comments they are getting (at the
beginning of the video) about clicker training?

One of the things that is interestingly different about how Van and Kim
train (using NH / PNH) is that the horse is trained to hold his gait and
speed until asked for something different.

The horse is responsible for holding the gait and speed, and is not held up
by the rider, which is the opposite of icelandic-style training, in general,
and of gait training.

I think allowing the horse to be responsible for gait and speed without
someone hanging onto the mouth is much better for the horse.

I had planned on watching this at work tomorrow. I'm off on most
Mondays (work most weekends). Its hard enough to watch a you tube
video on dial up, darned near impossible to listen to one. Hopefully
our high speed at the mall will be faster than dial up which
unfortunately on some days it's not. The mall won't let the local
cable/broadband company in because they won't pay their mall fees. I
got some calls this week that I now can get faster Internet on a few
other companies. I'll believe it when I see it. On this week's 'to
do list.
