Re: [IceHorses] SunDancer Plays Ball
Actually, I think you can see from the video that Dancer knows he can terrorize the big horses with the ball, and he exploits it!!! Susan in NV Yeah, my opinion to, the boy is wicked smart. It's one of several variations on "let's see if I can stir up some trouble around here". As all of the horses will push the ball around, none of them is really scared of the ball itself. They only react when the ball is actually chasing them down -- which from their perspective is what is happening. And I think it is partly an excuse to let out some pent up energy, if you notice toward the end Ruby is just standing there. Kat

At one point when he stops, he looks around like "come on, Guys, leet's paly, this is fun" I just loved it -- Laree in NC Doppa & Mura Simon, Sadie and Sam (the "S" gang) "Yet when all the books have been read and reread, it boils down to the horse, his human companion, and what goes on between them." - William Farley

I think I have a gelding and a young mare that just might enjoy one of these immensely. -- Renee M. in Michigan

We get them: http://www.sportogo.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWCATS&Category=370 if any one finds a better deal, let me know. The ones with the cloth covers hold up a lot longer then the "naked" balls, and they have a large selection of patterns/colors. I believe the one in the video is 40". Let me know how it goes. I should warn you that Dancer made friends with the big green ball when he was only a couple hours old -- so he always saw it as normal part of his environment. As you can tell, although they have had several years of exposure, the other horses are not quit so sure that moving ball has no ill intent. Kat
