I have wanted to live on a 'farm' since I can remember. I used to beg
my parents when I was little and lived in Toronto. I have no idea
where the desire came from or my desire for horses came from.
Previous life?

Now I wander around pinching myself. I know it's not a real farm but I love it!

I need to work on mine...right now it's filled with dandelions. If I
rented a tiller I could get hubby to till it and then I'd probably be
picking out dandelions right?

 What is a truck garden?

I have no idea where that term came from. It means vegetable garden and
usually refers to a large vegetable garden.

well every time the gas goes up we all take a little cut in pay... I
live as close to Alabama as the next florida town so I go there to
fill up when I can because gas is almost ten cents a gal cheaper
there. what the heck is up with THAT... is it florida taxes or
something??!? thats what aggravates me, why is it cheaper someplace
else and not everywhere?

I really hate buying into the "hard times" line, but our married kids are
getting together to plant a huge truck garden on part of our irrigated farm

it has pvc pipe and two by fours and bicycle tires. When I saw it she
said she would make one for Tivar and I looked and it seemed like only
a very slender horse would fit in it and I told her so and she said it
fit her mare perfectly and that she would make it fit the horse I want
to pull it :) she trips me out sometimes. She has spent all her
adult life taking care of herself. She married her high school
sweetheart during high school and has been divorced all but one year
since 30 years ago. Jaspar needs exercise and the vet said I could
ride him so we are taking a ride Sunday and she is gonna pony the
little baby mule because he is too full of beans! I told her Jaspar
wouldnt kick him and she said "shoot, I aint worried about that I am
worried he'll kick Jaspar!" haha. maybe I will get some pics! Poor
Jas is still so thin. I guess I will have him tested for cushings. I
think the vet thinks I have munchausens by proxy syndrome. he acts
like he is humoring me.

my friend sylvia is making me a little nervous. I asked what she was
gonna do with her IRS tax incentive money and she said "buy me a
rifle. With these hard times I want to know I can kill me something to
eat if I need to" and we laughed. Then she said she was looking for
rabbits to start breeding them to put in the freezer. Then she said
"I got me a welding machine, I can make you a horse buggy for going to
the store when the gas is too high to afford it." so I am relieved to
know Sylvia is on top of things. She already made her own horse buggy
but cant afford a harness yet.

I just totally chewed up and spit out a man illegally hunting one day
in the woods. I was so proud and when I got home and told my husband,
he said "wait,. lets get this straight. You told off a man holding a
shotgun dressed like a terrorist, wearing a mask. are you nuts or
what." But I was madder at him for spooking the horses than for
hunting out of season! If he had stepped out and showed himself it
woulda been ok but he kept hiding behind trees and the horses were
getting wild over his stealthy predator behavior.
