boot with live CD open a terminal type : sudo grub find /boot/grub/stage1 note down the partitions make it root as root(hd?.?) where hd?,? is the partition noticed earlier setup (hd0) this will install grub on MBR setup(hd0,4) then quit Reboot your system... Hii if you have a net connection you can download a simple application from http://www.supergrubdisk.org/ around 4mb and execute the exe file in windows restore the grub. It is worth a try. Hi, There is not enough detail to suggest a final solution. However, you can check this first- Open up the ALSA mixer panel (double click the speaker icon on the notification area on top panel). Then make sure that volume controls for 'Master', 'PCM' and 'Front' are all set to maximum. When 'PCM' control is at lowest, it often gives out some crackling sound when any audio is playing.
