[fsug-tvm] [OT] Earn With Free-Software Job
hey programmers , Here is a chance to Earn some quick bucks . The scenario : I have a web based service running on a Single dedicated Apache Server. The service utilizes a Custom made PHP script for its operation . The script uses mysql As DB. The issue : Due to heavy Usage of Server Resources, the existing server gets clogged at peak times and the service gets disrupted . Hence a server upgrade is deemed necessary , and the service gets moved to a server cluster ( with multiple servers ) on a Virtual Rack (on the same subnet). The Job : Enforce efficient Load Balancing on the server cluster, Make the script Work flawless on the server Cluster (in DSO mode). Optimize the Mysql for faster Performance. The Remuneration : $200 .. and yeah payment will be in ready cash ;) (based on the exchange rates on the day of delivery) I am looking for an experienced and advanced PHP-MySQL programmer who has good knowledge in server Load balancing tactics . Someone who can make necessary modification in the current code , to make it work over multiple servers (in DSO mode). So you think you can do it ? Drop me a mail with your contact number (find my mail id on my profile here in the group) or Reply to this post . I want this to be done pretty quick , as the current server downtime (on an average) is 4-5hrs per day (with constant service failures). I would prefer someone from Trivandrum to do this (even if you are based outside Trivandrum , and you are confident in doing this , feel free to contact me). The selected candidate will be entrusted with all further Updates/ maintenance or Addition of new features to this Web service from time to time , with suitable remuneration for the same . so yes i am looking forward to a long time relation P.S. : The service i am running utilizes only Free/Open source software P.P.S. : PHP/MySql beginners plz excuse P.P.P.S.: Any further info on the Nature of the service will be shared only with the apt candidate P.P.P.P.S. : This is Not SPAM ! :P --~--~-~--~~~---~--~~ "Freedom is the only law". [fsug-tvm] Re: Desperate and sick Microsoft [WAKE UP MODERATORS]
Hi, Happy to see that tone of this mailing list is becoming pleasant again. Its just that emotions flare up whenever topics about proprietary s/w are discussed on a free s/w mailing list. What we needed was a 'gentle' intervention from the moderators. On Jun 23, 6:54 pm, Anoop Jacob Thomas wrote: > The $1 thing is some kind of information we can use how a giant > proprietary firm is trying to bash a very popular Free Software. I wouldn't bet on the security aspect yet. Firefox has far more documented security vulnerabilities than any other web browser out there- and by a large margin. I have seen many reports, for example, this one form December 2008 by Secunia: http://secunia.com/gfx/Secunia2008Report.pdf . There are a few other reports too, but I am too lazy to dig them up. The only argument against this may be that firefox reports risks far more transparently and patches them far more quickly. So this may not represent the complete truth. Actually IE8 is quite decent in performance compared to its predecessors. The only reason why I hate it a lot is because they intentionally corrupt the HTML standards so that M$ can keep the entire web manageably incompetent. But tell that to normal users - who wouldn't care about alternate browsers, much less about W3C standards. Security situation is the same. Crackers tend to target IE more (with its poor vulnerability reporting and late patches), but who cares? Ask me how many of my friends learned about the dreaded Conficker worm - after they got infected with it! Just don't expect users' diligence to come to Firefox's rescue. M$'s dirty tactics will work just as they expect. Users will fall head over heals for the money. The only way out may be to somehow label this as an anti-competitive behaviour. Regards, Gokul Das Disclaimer: Any similarity between an FSUG member and a 'normal' user is purely coincidental and unintended. hey Vijay Anand TR, (and others) I think except the Quran thing everything can be marked as [OT]. As Asraf has explained that was a mistake from his part sending the message. So let us tolerate that for the time being. And members be careful when sending such mails. the code is superb. In fact obfuscated code, using conditional operator. Hey getting warnings is not a problem. It will still create an executable and you can execute it. So it compiled with few warnings mentioned by vibi sreenivasan > test.c:12:183: warning: unknown escape sequence '\,' > test.c:12:183: warning: unknown escape sequence '\+' > test.c:12:183: warning: unknown escape sequence '\l' > test.c:12:183: warning: unknown escape sequence: '\040' > test.c:12:183: warning: unknown escape sequence '\;' > test.c:12:183: warning: unknown escape sequence '\#' > test.c:12:725: warning: unknown escape sequence '\i' those are just warnings. you can still execute it. Don't worry about warnings as long as they run.
