[fsug-tvm] Problem with Ubuntu-8.10 installation
Hi all, There is a strange problem that happened with Ubuntu 8.10. I installed Ubuntu 8.10 into a P4 machine with 3GHZ and 1GB RAM machine. The machine already had a Fedora and Windows XP. Over these 2 OS i installed ubuntu in a partition with swap area 1024MB and / area 15000MB. I think the space made for partition is enough. Ubuntu installation too happened correctly. But after all this when i tried to boot the installed OS from Hard disk, BLANK...BLANK DARK SCREEN. What's this problem?? I tested Pidgin 2.6.1 with voice from the above package in the official pidgin website. vv is enable in mine. @Mahesh Did you take a system update recently? You should do that. I guess especially farsight and other jingle lib stuffs. do the update and they reinstall pidgin 2.6.1. this would probably solve your problem. [fsug-tvm] filesystem got corrupted after filesystem check.........
There is a strange error in my friend's pc.. He was up with jaunty But due to a sudden power failure, the system got crashed After that the system is not booting and an error message is showing * Kernel panic - not syncing: Attemptrd to kill init! Dumping ftrace buffer: (ftrace buffer empty)*. He used a live cd to check the filesystem using fsck command... But after that many folders and files like /etc/ got missed.. how to solve this?. -- ..
