A free software forum running on a forum which uses closed software ( Google) seems a bit unrealistic ( or would you call it a necessary evil) If you prefer we can all sit together and work out something which is fully open source. My personal preference is Drupal running on a LAMP server. Hi, The story of the two names is history. We started off as ILUG-TVM and occasionally called GLUG-TVM as well. But, about two years ago, we had a debate about our mandate. Finally after 2 months or so, it was decided that the group would be called FSUG-TVM according to our updated mandate to support free software in all forms. The old site http://www.ilug-tvm.org/ was from that time. With the name change, it was decided to change the site to new domain http://fsug-tvm.org/ . However, the old domain was never abandoned and the new one was never completed. Anyway, as for our new web site, I think that any attempt to replace this google group would be in vain. [fsug-tvm] What is our group name ilug-tvm or fsug-tvm ?
Dear all I am opening this thred from the other discussion regarding meeting . Sasikumar sir raised this question in the mails too. I found that there is a linkedin group called FSUG Tvm http://www.linkedin.com/groups?home=&gid=1599357 The google groupe name is 'fsug-tvm' The webpage URi is http://www.ilug-tvm.org/ and written in the home page "GNU Linux Users Group - Trivandrum " Lots and lots of confusion. Can any body clarify this. Also I noticed one fact that The group web page is inactive for a long time. A banner is there for a long time saying "This site is being re-worked currently. In the meanwhile you can please join our mailing-list by visiting". Recently I noticed reply to a thread; many people showing interest in setting up a web page. Can the site admins and those people volunteer to activate our site. Since the activity of the group is going in a smooth way I think we have to acitivate the site and show our activity to the public.
