Well, I must say you join SchoolOS. You can visit SchoolOS wiki and learn
how and what script were used to customise it. We have documented it well
and you can follow all updates on googlecode.
http://code.google.com/p/schoolos/
After that your can change logos/wallaper/theme or add/remove packages
whatever you want.

Coding repo contains code/script for Ubuntu. we are working to create exact
same behavior (packages/customisation) on Debian and fedora. You might take
up these branches.

I have asked what packages are installed on your system , I got full package
list 8 system. I will send a common list so that you can determine what are
most needed packages..

Please join SchoolOS mailing list so that we can work together for some
commons goals..

Dear Anoop,
YOU are wrong. Do not compare Linux with Windows at this
aspect. unfortunately installating software at windows is easy. I am a long
time advocate of open system who even do not use flash player and not even
gnash. But I must say the truth.
I have just install XYZLinux Distro. (yes name is XYZLinux), It do not
have VLC. May you please tell me your address so that I can come to your
house for collecting VLC software for Linux.
Are you ready ???

WTF...

Why you are learning TC3 and graphics.h !! Why you are still reading the old
kanitkar books. Just through them into dustbin.

Learn Qt or GTK or OpenGL. well do not confuse with option. Linux always has
100+ ways to the same things.

just learn OpenGL. Go to some book market and purchase some book on OpenGL.

Download Ubuntu/SchoolOS and search for "Ubuntu + OpenGL" etc to learn how
to run opengl on your system

just code it.

Dude, there is no co-relation between inventions and source code.
It has to deal with patents and other things.

Source which was developed as part the developing new things can be released
under FOSS or can be closed source. but you can anyway re-develop the same
application and put under the FOSS license.

I do not think think these are new things. All you need to be a super code
in OpenCV and Image processing. All you need to track finger movement.
BUT believe me, This will be a failful invention. If we put our fingers on
mouse, it rests on mouse surface. If we lift our fingers in air, we need to
put extra force on nerves. in long run it may lead to injury
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Repetitive_strain_injury .

Well the coding such projects is very simple. Let me give the idea.

Put Red and Green on white surface.
Just search for OpenCV code for image reading in pixel format from webcam.
You can track the location on red and green pixel. when you will put a
finger on red circle the number of red pixel will decrease. You can put a
threshold to detect the click.

PS: I think Kartik is over hyped.

Install VLC and Firefox Chrome Pidgin.
There must be some Internet cafe management system.

Please do not install YLMF, let then know that there exist something other

May be you can install something like MacBar - Cairo-deck application.

* Install Linux OS

* install remastersys
* run remastersys

within 30 minute it will create Bootable ISO which you want use as a new

LOL (Big LOL)
Who the hell toldyou that RMS started FSF and GNU for creating free of cost
software ?
have you ever spent any time watching and reading him.

Moreover, I am taking about free as in Freedom dictated by 4 freedom and
Open Source definition. I am not talking about freeware.

I can guess, for you Goodness of software is imp, and freeness and non-free
is not important. I guess you in wrong place. FOSS is not meant for that.
Open Office is still difficult at some point then M$ Office. why don't you
put M$ Office in your Distro if you want Good software. (be it free or
non-free)

IF you atall want GOOD SOFTWARE then FOSS may be a good choice for you. FOSS
contains GOOD + BAD software/packages. FOSS world is about creating a big
Community of Users and Developers who continuously create and modify the
FOSS software according to their need. I agree that 100% need of a user may
not be satisfied by FOSS. in that user will download non-free
(non-distributable software) by himself.
If you use 1000+ free software (free as in Freedom and not free of cost)
then you must respect other's work and do not mix non-free software.

Hi,
You must meet IT sec or other minister to convince them that ODT format
is best for office. Then they put circular that all Gov office must use Open
Office in their Offices. make sure you put RTI or other tools to verify that
no body is purchasing MS office.
We have done similar activity in Delhi. but result are not desirable.
in Delhi, we have a circular for using only openoffice.
also, putting RTI/PIL is also helpful. At the same time, taking police
help for identifying and punishing persons/office which are using
Pirated/illegal copy of MS Office will be helpful.

His user are anyway using non-free pirated software, He can give copy of

You are a totally *naive person.*
Freedom to give choice for software installation and giving a software
preinstalled is different thing.
Freedom to give the the choice for software installation is what ubuntu and
other distribution do. When user download non-free software, they are agree
to install without redistributing them (checkout the Terms and conditions).
When you give some software like adobe reader or picasa then you are
redistributing the software and thus you are doing a copyright infringement
which is a legally punishable act.
This is exactly same as redistributing the copy of purchase Windows XP.
You are just advertising non-free software. Free Software is basically a
mission to get rid of non-free software. You are exactly advertising
non-free software.
You are doing two crime
1) Copyright infringement
2) Hurting users who respect freedom and misusing the term freedom

Lastly if you put adobe reader (let suppose you got permission to do so by
Adobe), in this case you are taking away Linux users from Okular to Adobe
reader and thus reducing the users which use okular.

Nobody in Linux community do the task which you are doing. there can be only
two reasons

   - You are a naive uses who do not know "Why do use Linux, FOSS".
Basically ethical reason to use FOSS. Please watch some video by RMS. Also
you do not know much about the redistribution of non-free software
   - You must got bribe/money from non-free vendors like Adobe etc to
   promote their stuff

I guess, out of two reasons above, you are doing this because of first
reason.

Not to discourage you. but you are putting non-free things like

Skype , Opera, TeamViewer, Google Earth, Adobe Flash Player Plugin, Adobe
AIR, Picasa, Adobe Reader
Moreover it is illegal to distribute these application unless you have

I would suggest to rename it to "FreewareDistro" rather then freedomx.
Because we use Freedom as a symbol of GPL / Free Software. I am not
discouraging you but Please do not miss use the term freedom.

Sorry dude it is not possible.
I too love pigs ;)
But if someone try to kill pigs then it is my duty Or responsibility to stop
them.
Same apply with FOSS. FOSS world is based upon certain principle. We are
just not focusing on freedom of users but we are also focusing on freedom of
coder and developer too. software patent and many other monopolic things
resist coder/developer to work.
When it come to users - M$ is not a enemy because users are ready to
sacrifise their freedom for using their products. They agree to sign a "Not
to share" agreement.
When it comes to Developers - M$ is my first enemy.
