Re: [fsug-tvm]: Reliance netconnect Broadband+ connectivity issue in Ubuntu 10.04
Since you are 10.04 it is better if you can upgrade current version of modemmanager package(which actually is responsible for configuring your drivers under linux). however in order to do so you might have add third party PPA. https://launchpad.net/~network-manager/+archive/trunk however i do recommennd caution while using the PPA i too had face similar problems with same Modem on the lucid install. after upgrading the modemmanager packages those seem to have went away. furthermore i do get performance at par to windows with newer versions of ubuntu(most likely due to them shipping with current version of the modemmanager ) -- Freedom is the only law. Re: [fsug-tvm]: Reliance netconnect Broadband+ connectivity issue in Ubuntu 10.04
I suggest you to try it with the wvdial configuration given below. I have used this configuration with reliance sometime back. Append the configuration to your wvdial.conf file. You may also replace the below contents except the first line [Dialer reliance] in your [Dialer Defaults] to use wvdial instead of using wvdial reliance. [Dialer reliance] Init1 = ATZ Init2 = ATQ0 V1 E1 S0=0 C1 D2 +FCLASS=0 Password = 7483182615 Initz = ATQ0 M1 L1 X3 V1 E1 S0= 0 C1 D2 +FCLASS=0 Phone = #777 Model Type = USB Modem stupid mode = 1 baud = 460800 New PPPD = yes Modem = /dev/ttyUSB0 ISDN = 0 Username = 7483182615 Abort on no dial tone = False Type the following command to connect, (a) If you have appended the configuration in /etc/wvdial.conf wvdial reliance (b) If you have replaced the configuration in [Dialer Defaults] with the new configuration wvdial -- Anoop Jacob Thomas -- Freedom is the only law.
