in law college I attended a total of about 30 classes in three years - but now
a days the younger generation is of no use - all they care about is
attendance and credits.

We shared events that happened around in the last one month.. and
Raman shared few useful commands.. later it was on FossConf 2009..

need for physical volunteers was stressed upon..

apart from having usual talks etc., need to bring people from
different streams of life.. auditors.. lawyers.. doctors..
academicians.. linguists etc., to know their expectation from FOSS
world to make free software for them, explore ways to do that.. can be
one thing where this fossconf can distinguish itself from the previous
one..

any college/ institution/ organisation willing to host is welcome to
do that on the first confirmation basis..

Yes please.. I study in college too (apparently the same one).. So it
would be really great if a LUG meeting were to take place on Sundays..

Unless there is a specific reason, can I take the privelege of requesting

I understand that the choice of day would have been made after some

Instead, installing IE and using the same page is like using a pain killer
to comfort pain from a fracture and ignore the fracture itself. Also as
chrome is clearly on the rise for Windows users. So more and more are
going to be harassed by a poorly written page.

Lastly IE is the worst performing browser in acid3 test

Make a well educated choice

One nation is not one channel - one language :-)

Also, get on to #thamizha or #ubuntu-tam, We can chat just as we share

afaik, one channel is sufficient for India. I have been working hard to
promote ##linux-india as an all India channel and am proud to say that it is
*the* place for the Indian FOSS community to meet. So go ahead and use it.

Will it be useful if we create one on freenode or such?
It will be very useful to the newbies who may have several doubts and
issues regarding using Linux, but how far is it useful for the rest of
us, I am not able to guess.
Well, there exists one #ilugchennai in irc.freenode.net server which was
created somewhere around 2004. But it is barely used and hence been
lying there abandoned. So far, ##linux-india had been one place we all
have been interacting, though a few other LUGs do have their own
channels (excluding ilugd, ilugb and glugbom).

there is a perfectly good chat room at ##linux-india on freenode with a lot of
ilugc members on it - that can be used. Waste of effort to start a new one.

Mail is another option, but more means of communication, more collaboration!
