Buddy,

You gotta learn e-mail quoting.

You have been in LUG long enough...so you have learnt by now. ;)

Anyway just pulling your leg.

People should clearly know which part of the mail text is yours and
which someone else's.

Best of luck!

There are lot of noise in list these days. Top/bottom posting, sms language,
sending replies to password mails from mailman(?!) , the list goes on. Why
they
think that LUG members need to know their password is beyond my
comprehension.

I think some action need to be taken against people sending these spam.
IMHO,
the monthly reminders regarding list rules are not working. (Case in point:
a few days
ago someone replied to an automated mail containing few list rules violating
almost all
the rules given in that mail.)

[Ilugc] Postfix connection refused error

2010-09-24 Thread Abhishek K

Hello All,

I have a postfix server problem. I get the following lines in the

to fix this issue:

My two files are here:

No matter what I do, it just fails with the above error all the time
when I am sending to external domain. Receiving works fine. But sending
fails when sending to external domain (like gmail, hotmail, or any other.)

Thank you for your help.

Also, you could submit your custom appliance you built with suse studio to
suse dister's awards and have a chance to win usd 10,000. Might want to

Sorry, I was trying to hide my domain name and therefore changed it to
domain.in. And I turned it off for a while since we are still in very
initial stages. It is back UP now.

Thank you for looking at this. I tried but failed to get a solution
online, even though there are many such cases. I am working with Airtel
to get the reverse PTR record to my name as well.

Regards,
Abhishek

I guess, its not his mistake. Possibly, some strange issue with his email
client, which messes up the formatting.

[Ilugc] Talk on Postgresql in Loyola College, Chennai

2010-09-24 Thread Raman.P
Dear luggies,
Today (24/9/2010) on behalf of ILUGC I did a session lasting 2 1/2 hours on
postgresql basics and optimisation of RDBMS at Loyola College, Chennai . The
session was attended by about 50 students of second and third year MCA. The
students are very good.

I thank the management and Prof.Nagarajan, HOD MCA for the opportunity.

You need to mention, distro name version etc.

Prima Facie, your problem appears to be a firewall issue. In your
logs you get connection refused but a few moments ago I tried 'telnet
122.165.69.244 25' and the connection times out. Assuming you have
your postfix/master daemon on, it implies inbound packets to port 25
are being dropped instead of a reject.

What is the output of 'iptables --list' ?

I second the VM image solution. Participants can do further
customization of the base image and you never know they may end up
using that for their own production. openBRAVO

Take a look at the download options of openbravo - besides the tar
ball, they provide VM image for QEMU (works with Linux KVM), Xen and
VMWare.
