Thanks. If the college accepts the above, is it possible to provide
training for the faculties (then it's easy for us to convince all engg.
colleges in the coimbatore region).

Also, we are in the process of promoting FEL (Fedora Electronics Lab) in the
ECE departments.

What are the projects/exercises that the above mentioned are used for?
iverilog is NOT capable of doing quite a lot of stuff. I would like to
look at the lab assignments / projects targetted before suggesting an
alternative. What do you mean by a PIC16F modeler? Are you looking at
a PIC simulator?

Please elaborate.

Are you able to connect it otherwise, if you don't use KNetworkManager?

Will try to get the projects/exercise details and post tomorrow.

The dept. staff reported to principal, iverilog doesn't meet their
requirement.

Then, we had a good conversation about the required talks on monthly meets.
We collected some topics from the audience and decided to list them in

We discussed about mentoring college students to do their projects.
we can create a page in wiki for interesting projects to do and
we can get some students to accomplish the projects.

I have also tried to configure the WiFi with the "System Settings >
Network Connections"; same deal - I get prompted for the WPA2 pass
phrase and no result i.e. connection.

I have not looked into configuring with CLI tools as I have not done
it before - suggestions welcome.

With Ubuntu 10.04 Netbook edition on my HP mini, I am able to get WiFi
connection on this AP with the same WPA2 passphrase I am using in KDE.
Ditto with Win XP on my brother's laptop.

We have made some changes. Users can now use the wiki without having to
worry much about captcha

1. Registered user can edit/create pages. Captcha won't show up .
2. If an edit adds external link(s) the user will be asked with captcha.
3. User has to enter captcha while registering an account.
4. Anonymous edits are banned.

Even after I did that, I had issues in some cases, especially if we use
WEP128 Hex. The problem was solved by switching to wicd. As I understand it,
the issue is largely with the supplicant.

Yeah, at first I did not have the cat 5 cable plugged in and yet the
knetworkmanager preferred to show the RJ45 icon in systray. I click
on the icon and see that my WiFi AP is indeed visible to the laptop.
I select the WiFi AP and get prompted for the WPA2 passphrase. I
enter it, then it says trying to establish connection and then nothing
happens. Nothing in /var/log/messages either. After quite a few
unsuccessful attempts, I decided to make a wired connection and move
on. The funny thing is, it worked when I used to invoke
knetworkmanager manually from the KMenu. Then I configured it
knetworkmanager to be in the systray after which I am unable to
establish WiFi connection.
