Does it refer to having own wiki hosted using mediawiki as platform (

What we need is, a crisp and sharp profile, what all contributions as

It may be difficult for me to come up with such questions or interview them
directly, I being from Bangalore.
So, lets start with documenting each person, how (s)he was introduced to
FOSS, what motivates, whats the contribution,
how the community is now, how it should be in future, etc.

Hey, this and all is fine.
What i was looking for is an already existing implementation in Indian
context.
Is there already something thats implemented?

The situation now in some shops in Vishakhapatnam, Krishna and Godavari
districts of AP is that all inventory was on fingertips of people of our
previous generation and the current generation thats pampered with Computer
technologies has no clue to do these kind of stuff, and they require
some handy software.

So i'll customize in case no ready made one's available.

[Ilugc] [OT] Inventory management software for general grocery stores

2011-07-10 Thread రహ్మానుద్దీన్ షేక్
Hi,

Sorry for reposting. The earlier subject or content might not have
possibly made my point here.

Do we have an inventory management system software for a local kirana shop (
groceries shop/vegetable shop) which will take care of stock of shop as well
as the daily sales both at large and small scales.

This software must ideally scale to any kind of business, also should be
Free and open source software one.

We are planning it to be distributed to local shopkeepers and vendors in
northern AP, where people are in need of it.

If its in FOSS, we can even have a Telugu translation for it, which in turn
will have more widespread usage.

Lastly, it is urgently required! The earlier the better, as proprietary
people are trying to perpetuate here too.

2011-03-08 Thread రహ్మానుద్దీన్ షేక్
The problem here is also the net speed, the lab will be in a very remote
location in a rural area, with limited speed.
Cant I manage with a single network card? I dunno the hardware specs for the
lab as well. I am going there this weekend for setting up lab.

[Ilugc] need LAN connectivity without internet for few systems.

2011-03-07 Thread రహ్మానుద్దీన్ షేక్
Hi,
I have this requirement to setup a small lab, where we have ~30 PCs,
all will be working on ubuntu. I need them to be connected in LAN. Also I
need to connect one of these systems(meant for instructor) to Internet.
The rest systems should not have net access.
How can i achieve that. All systems run on ubuntu and the same instructor
system should be the apt-cacher server.

[Ilugc] Three jugs problem

2010-11-30 Thread రహ్మానుద్దీన్ షేక్
I am struck at solving this 3 jugs problem , the problem statement is:
there are three jugs of capacities 19oz, 13oz., and 7 oz.
The 1st jar is empty and the other two are full. Now we need to obtain 10 oz
into any one of the jar.
How to solve this kind of problems. I just need the logic to start with.

[Ilugc] Airtel broadband in ubuntu 10.10

2010-11-11 Thread రహ్మానుద్దీన్ షేక్
Hi there,

   - Somehow am unable to connect to airtel broadband using beetel 220 modem
   provided in ubuntu 10.10,
   - i googled for it but failed
   - one evident solution came in IRC #ubuntu-in , where i was told to put
DNS server addresses in /etc/resolv.conf to google DNS servers,
   - this worked out in a way that am able to ping to www.google.com (its
   obvious),
   - but in browser(firefox) am unable to connect to internet.
   - I followed the instructions given at honeytechwell and zyxware but
   failed.

Is there any other solution, i dont have wireless modem.
