Please reply to the appropriate message in the thread. I was confused when I
read the first few words of the above line, as it seemed as if you were
addressing Ma Sivakumar. Only after reading the contents inside brackets I
was able to know that you are addressing to Victor.

After all KG has a point. Different distros have different package
managers and providing a command that works only on Ubuntu is quite
misleading.

imitate? I honestly do not understand whom KG is imitating. Anyways my two
cents:
  1. KG is helping people know how other distros behave and also laymen
Debian users who may have difficulty
by following OP's procedure. I learnt, on a previous occasion, that
Debian doesn't have sudo by default from KG only.

  2. And it is funny that you are telling someone about mailing list
etiquette.

Wait, how am I getting your mails? I remember asking my spam filter to eat
them after you sent annoying spams.
Hmmm, I see it now. Wasn't http://www.ae.iitm.ac.in/mailman/options/ilugc/victor.lists--at--gmail.com>>
your original email id? At least thats what my spam filter says me. Please
do not change handles like this to escape your past karma. I cannot keep on
adding new mail ids to my filter whenever you create new ones to annoy
people.

Everyone have their style of communicating. This is the KG way and
many in the list enjoy the style.

One needs positive karma to suggest rules to list members. In my
opinion, Mr Victor Johnson, you do not have that.

as for distros, I use only three. Fedora on laptop, mandriva for wife

understand when most people I know have at least 10 distros on their

You just always trying to prove (or make yourself popular) by replying like
