You have to specify the name servers which can resolve your domain name. In many cases, the registrar themselves provide DNS services using which you can specify the A record to resolve to an IP. If your registrar don't provide DNS services, you might have to get a DNS solution elsewhere or setup one yourself. Once you know the IP/hostname of the nameserver (DNS server), you can update it with the registrar. On a side note, You don't necessarily need a static ip if you can live with 2 mins downtime/day in case of a dynamic ip. I hope you have tested your setup by connecting with the IP directly before purchasing the domain. -- 0 ___ ILUGC Mailing List: http://www.ae.iitm.ac.in/mailman/listinfo/ilugc

You should configure a DMZ host. You can buy a domain from www.net4.in for around 500/- a year or you could buy from someone else and point your static to it. -Girish -- G3 Tech Networking appliance company web: http://g3tech.in mail: gir...@g3tech.in ___ ILUGC Mailing List: http://www.ae.iitm.ac.in/mailman/listinfo/ilugc
