Re: [Ilugc] checkpoint configuration in linux

2012-09-11 Thread Raghavendran
Hi Karthik,

Seeing that they have given you an EXE file, I believe it is a IPSEC VPN
client(Correct me if i am wrong).

Ubuntu has a built-in VPN client and i think use it as an alternative to
the check point provided client.

All you need is the gateway address and the user name/password.

I think the following link will be helpful:

http://askubuntu.com/questions/145330/how-to-get-a-vpn-for-ubuntu

Please let me know if it was helpful.

Thank You,

Raghavendran

Is that possible to install checkpoint client in linux.

I tried to install snx which is successful in installation when I tried
to load the application as $sudo snx -s XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX -u username it
 gives an error

snx: error while loading shared libraries: libpam.so.0: wrong ELF class:
 ELFCLASS64.

My ubuntu is 12.04 64bit version.

To overcome the above error When i try to enter the command $ldd
/usr/bin/snx, the library file libpam.so.0 was not loaded libpam.so.0 =
 not found

But the library file is available in /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libpam.so.0. I
don't know how to link this with the snx application.

Has anybody in our ilugc was successful in the checkpoint VPN for ubuntu
 64bit version.

The above problem was solved by the procedure available in the url below.

 https://forums.checkpoint.com/forums/message.jspa?messageID=39916

I overcome the library problem but still when i try to login authentication
 fails.

Just want to share this info...

Hi,

Is the check point client actually needed for the VPN
configuration? I think using openVPN client would be better. It works
well with untangle firewall.

2012-09-09 Thread Chandrashekar Babu
Hi,

snx: error while loading shared libraries: libpam.so.0: wrong ELF class:
 ELFCLASS64.

My ubuntu is 12.04 64bit version.

It is likely that the program is 32 bit and is
dependent on a 32 bit version of PAM library.

Try installing the 64 bit version of the program
or install 32 bit version of PAM library (though
I doubt that the latter solution is straight forward).

Cheers,
Chandrashekar.
