[ilugd] dual boot problem

2006-08-19 Thread Rocker !!!
I have to help a friend reinstall windows on a system which also has
RHEL4 on it. In other words, it was a dual boot system, and we were
both afraid that re-installing Windows will overwrite the Master Boot
Record (MBR) and make it impossible to boot into RHEL4. What are the
possible options to avoid it...or to recover the linux again.

does anyone even read these postings ?

also, rather than having it forcefed down everyone throat this way,
would it not be a better idea to put this into a blog sort of format and
let people subscribe to that feed ? or have it on its own mailing list
and let people who want to read such, subscribe.

Re: [ilugd] drive can be shared

2006-08-19 Thread vikram ranade
I assume you have Windows XP with the Drive E formatted with NTFS.
For NTFS support you will need to install the NTFS driver.
There is a guide for this here ---
http://www.linux-ntfs.org/content/view/127/63/

Incase the Drive E is formatted as FAT32 then you can mount the drive
natively
with the mount command into a directory of your choice.

Hope this helps.
