Some, like sbl-xbl, you can feel comfortable with rejecting email from
at the gateway / MTA level, instead of even passing these to spamass.

Others you might want to score. But if you trust them low enough to
want to score based on them you might just as well not use them.

uribl in sa-3.x is surbl.

I've also found MailScanner's checks to use useful, along with clamav's
phishing test's.

I tend to score rbl /dnsbl's very very low - so the more the better :)

Do the network stuff, and then DCC .. razor / pyzor is a "nice to do if
you have the resources"

And tweak scores up for some stuff (say sbl-xbl etc) to the max, or
reject based on those earlier

And then check for the various HELO filters in spamassassin

sbl-xbl contains sbl, as well as cbl and parts of njabl

Dont use all of dnsbl.sorbs.net - too many fps. Just use
dul.dnsbl.sorbs.net (got its own share of fps but better than most other
dynamic IP blocklists around)

dsbl and spamcop have far more fps than I'm comfortable with using

I understand SURBL is automatically enabled in SA 3.x (as long as the
networks checks are enabled). Will push URIBL in.

Suresh> 2. Other network based tests

Suresh> Crank as many of them up as you can.

Razor is a hog for both bandwidth and CPU :( However, will try it for
a while and see how it performs. Pyzor refuses to discover or ping on
my box for some reason.

Can do.

cbl.abuseat.org
relays.ordb.org
list.dsbl.org
sbl-xbl.spamhaus.org
dnsbl.sorbs.net
dnsbl.njabl.org

is currently in. Haven't had too many issues with false positives, so
I guess I can only add to this list, no need to delete.

Currently trapping about 80-90% (don't have precise statistics, but
that's what it appears to be). Would like to bump it up to at least
95% if at all possible.

Chatting with a few SA developers ..

1. SURBL / URIBL

2. Other network based tests

Crank as many of them up as you can.

DCC is the next "good thing do do".

Blocklists - at least sbl-xbl.spamhaus.org.
