SixXS staff demands lesser latency, which won't be possible here, and
you won't be allocated a subnet if latency is this much. I've measured
latencies to SixXS PoPs[1], and I've not found any single PoP < 300ms.

Yes, there have been horrendous network problems at
Sarai. I am told that we are getting a new physical
line Real Soon Now (TM), but cannot commit to when
it will be available.

Is anyone else ready to offer Ashish the possibility
of setting up a ipv6 test-bed? From what I understand,
this requires allowing Ashish temporary administrative
access to the gateway to setup the tunnel, and a static
IP.

Gora

You ask: "which software is best for video-editing" under foss and gnu/linux?

answer: video-edit software like kino, cinerella etc are not as
robust, mature, and friendly or professional like fcp, avids, etc.
Hence, a few people use the video-edit features of blender3d.but the
software looks intimidating.
Gaping-hole of pandav-foss: video-compositing, video-edit, non-linear
edit, and even dvd-authoring software, that are at par with their
proprietary kaurava-siblings.

worth keeping in mind, that you cant *enforce* ssl/tls, if the remote
smtp refuses to either verify your cert, or does not do ssl/tls at all,
most people will fall back to clear text, since not delivering to non
ssl/tls accepting hosts would mean a large part of the internet is not
emailable from your site. Also same implications for inbound.

No issues with sendmail relaying (or any other SMTP-related activity)
using TLS. For tips, HOWTOs and tricks try this on Google-ji:

  sendmail starttls howto

Let us know if you face problems, since using TLS with sendmail is not
tough yet still not trivial.

[ilugd] IPv6 internet (through tunnel) available in Sarai Lab

2008-09-17 Thread Ashish Shukla आशीष शुक्ल
-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-
Hash: SHA1

Hi all,

Today, I've connected Sarai[0] Lab to IPv6 internet through the IPv6
tunnel (6in4[1]) provided by HE[2]. The setup was very easy, and I'm
done in less than 20 minutes. And, we (me and Shantanu
Choudhary, the *co-operating* fellow at Sarai Lab) connected to
Freenode IRC[3], Google IPv6[4] etc. The RTT is at least 230ms, since
the tunnel server is located in Frankfurt, Germany.

But after few minutes, we noticed it is not working. On investigation,
we figured out that internet connection is not working :-D. I mentioned
this to Shantanu who told me Internet Connections are not stable in
Sarai, as in you can't rely on them, non-deterministic.

So, while leaving the lab, I've to disable the tunnel :(.

I'm wondering if NIXI or anyone else has any comments/suggestions/flames
on this.

Thanks to Shantanu, and Gora for their co-operation :).

Sorry I forgot to mention, the Sendmail box only takes care of the
egress of emails. Would it still be a problem? So essentials mails
flow from Exhchange to a Content Filter/Av appliance and then to the
SMTP g/w and then out to the internet.

I'm no sendmail expert, but if you want to do TLS while relaying
outbound mails, then I don't think this is permissible with current
standards of SMTP, where MX is expected to communicate in an unencrypted
channel.

Hello,

I have an MS Exchange 2003 & Sendmail 8.13.x environment and would
like to use TLS at the SMTP perimeter to encyrpt outbound email
traffic. Does anybody have any pointers or location to someplace on

sendmail would issue a STARTTLS during EHLO. are there any
cons/pitfalls in setting this up?

Any and all help appreciated.

If you go to the my presentations, If have mentioned my definition of
"educational content".

We have to look from two aspects
* participation
* interactivity of content
See Wikipedia is best because is has high degree of participation but
interactivity is not much needed for participation,
If you increase the interactivity of content using video recording or flash
presentation the participation will be less. Like Google tech video,,,
Increasing the contents interactivity will reduce the target audience also..
as it need more bandwidth..lie video takes time of download..
the most biggest disadvantage is search engine cannot seach a text inside
the video or flash files.
So Inorder to make a big e-learning platform (which i am working and calling
it eduvid) we need to have a great participation and My system is best
suitable for educational content.
Always remember ,., at the end of the day "simplicity matter". Let wait for
some more time for Eduvid to complete.
