[ilugd] OpenSource Wifi hub security software
Hi People... One of my favorite coffee shops has free unsecured wifi access for all. I have suggested them to have some way of access control-- like they have in bangalore intl airport or hyd airport-- user gives some verifiable info and gets a token/password-- in this case maybe from the cash-counter instead of thru SMS. I want to know--- what are the free/open source access control softwares for wifi hubs like this ??? You know... that a person can fill a register on counter--- and get a password--- and the name and password assigned+browsing history are stored. Please do let me know... Thanks and Best Regards, NS ___ ilugd mailinglist -- ilugd@lists.linux-delhi.org http://frodo.hserus.net/mailman/listinfo/ilugd Archives at: http://news.gmane.org/gmane.user-groups.linux.delhi http://www.mail-archive.com/ilugd@lists.linux-delhi.org/

Thanks Harish-- but what I'm specifically seeking is a software-only solution-- that can run on a low end comp OR netbook attached to their wifi router-- so that it selectively allows access. Aint sure really if that sorta thing exists... but if it does; do tell me-- and if there're other ways to get this done, let me know. Dear List, To the best of my understanding, A computer literate is a person atleast having knowledge skill to operate and use computer softwares for accessing, (including modifying, processing, saving data/ text/ files through respective softwares for wordprocessing, presentation, etc, playing audio, video etc), internet, etc irrespective of operating environment. I know the definition can vary by context. More specifically I am looking for a definition which can fit the requirements of a modern enterprise executive who is in no way related to Computers and IT. Looking for curriculum which have been implemented, evaluation and quizes etc. Does it include exposure to FOSS ? I think ideally it should focus more on the required skills and more importantly is platform agnostic to the extent practical. One search led me to a credible link which I am studying http://www.ischool.washington.edu/mlis/literacyreqs.aspx anand ___ ilugd mailinglist -- ilugd@lists.linux-delhi.org http://frodo.hserus.net/mailman/listinfo/ilugd Archives at: http://news.gmane.org/gmane.user-groups.linux.delhi http://www.mail-archive.com/ilugd@lists.linux-delhi.org/
