No. Any USB port, preferably a 2.0 port. If you have an older white intel iMac with the older white keyboard, then plug the drive into a port on the computer. If you have a new or older intel iMac with the new keyboard, you could plug it in there. If it doesn't work, try a port on the back. To boot from it, put it in, and hold option while booting. If the OS you want to boot shows up, click it. Re: iMac G4 700mhz/256mb ram hard drive and reinstalling issues
Anyone out there had any positive experience of repairing a broken antenna wire ? The split is about an inch away from the logic board. My confusion arose because the seller had accidentally connected the dummy ide port on the imac while pinching the airport cable, after I had started assembling it had just snapped, and the points where it snapped were right inside that ide port on the board so I convinced myself it belonged there ! So my question is does anyone have any knowledge of repairing ? In a duct tape world I could just strip a piece of insulation and twist the two together and retape. I don't feel comfortable soldering this. On Apr 1, 5:38 pm, johnwd5 wrote: > Turned out to be a badly pinched airport cable that had snapped. NeoOffice Leapfrogs OpenOffice Again
The following article comes from: http://www.macuser.co.uk/news/250427 Al Poulin *** News [Office software] Tuesday 31st March 2009 NeoOffice puts a Mac twist on OpenOffice 9:21AM, Tuesday 31st March 2009 The NeoOffice project has released a new version of its eponymous productivity software suite. NeoOffice 3.0 comprises a set of office applications for word processing, drawing and creating spreadsheets, presentations and database. It is based on OpenOffice, released late last year, but has a strong emphasis on features that are specific to the Mac but absent from the cross-platform oriented Open Office. Those features include: native floating tools windows and access to menu items when no document is open, neither of which is provided by OpenOffice; a media browser for adding content such as photos and movies a from iLIfe applications; magnify and swipe trackpad gestures; image import from cameras and scanners; and support for Leopard’s grammar checker. The NeoOffice developers also claim significant speed improvements to the OpenOffice.org code. On the downside, one OpenOffice.org feature is missing from NeoOffice. The developers have not been able integrate Universal Access so if you need Universal Access support use OpenOffice.org, Microsoft Office, or Apple iWork. NeoOffice 3.0 is a free download.
