Re: DVI, VGA, or HDMI?

The iMac detects them, detects the monitor, detects different HD modes (1080i, 1080p, and so forth), but does not show any image on the Asus monitor. It stays pitch black. It's still working fine with DVI input, though. Yet another update, and a happier one. My cat started fiddling with the Asus' controls, and remembered that I had manually set it up for DVI input. So he set in turn it up for HDMI, and --voila! It's dazzlingly working on 1080p. (It's literally dazzling --so bright, it almost hurts my eyes.) My cat is a very happy camper, and even promised me some lunch money. F -- You received this message because you are a member of the iMac Group, a group for those using Apple iMacs and eMacs. And destroying my shoes --Ayesha barfs inside them and them scratches them to death. I have had to lock them up, and leave an old pair out for her to play with. She has also proven herself a remarkable literary critic. If a book is good, she'll spare it, but if it sucks, she'll barf on it and/or scratch the cover. She has been 100% accurate so far. Returning to HDMI vs. DVI, I am under the impression that HDMI looks a little juicier and more nitid than DVI, but it could be just me. For what it's worth, Leo agrees with me.
