[info-tech] USB
If I have a device powered off of USB, how long can I run that cable? Looking into SMART Boards and distance that I can have the computer away from the board. (Hoping the answer is somewhere near 50 feet) thanks and HAPPY SUMMER! -- A: Yes. Q: Are you sure? A: Because it reverses the logical flow of conversation. That's how we did it in our new elementary school in Storm Lake. Boards in the front of the room. Computers in the back. Sarah Sarah M. RE: [info-tech] USB
We're using IOGear USB Ethernet Extender (model GUCE51).. about $80 a pop, but you can probably find them for less.. We initially started with 15' USB extenders, but we were having to daisy chain too many of them together. All the ones we're using now have 100' CAT5e cables attached to them, and it's working great.
