Re: [info-tech] mobile cart

2010-10-27 Thread Beth Litterer

Jeremy,

We actually have 3 of the Bretford carts with the cable nightmares and
I'm wishing to find a better solution for the 125 laptops that will be
coming my way soon. I'm convinced after lots of searching that I'm
just going to have to design my own cart. I have yet to see a cart for
14"+ laptops that you can easily take out cords if needed to plug in
and yet still have a place to tuck them away for charging that's not
crammed in on top of the laptops.

Thanks for the input everyone!

Beth

If you are looking for a complete solution using PC netbooks, I
would highly recommend the Dell 2110 and their cart. Netbooks slide
into the cart, no cables to mess with. Very cool. They are a
little proud of the setup, as a cart with 24 netbooks fully-loaded
is $19,000 or so. You are welcome to come over and check one out
though.

Subject: [info-tech] n1h1 and cleaning computers

Is anyone out there sanitizing their laptops/desktops after student
use? What products are you using (hand sanitizer, antiseptic wipes,
etc.) and how often are you cleaning them? We've come across the cost
issue and the class time it takes to clean laptops between student
uses.

running JMC on Mac 10.5 connecting to a Windows 2003 server where JMC
is housed. Daily I get a semophore error of some kind and can't get
into District Office application. JMC has told me to delete the
semophore files - that helps for a day. JMC told me to check for user
privileges for the Data and Transcript folders on the server - they
are correct. Now they say that it's a connection problem between Mac
10.5 and Server 2003 and not JMC. Is anyone else having these
problems and what do you suggest I look for now?

And don't tell me to move to a PC, I love my new Mac!
