Jon, Works is the default word/data processing program for many PCs. You might check the programs installed on the PC you're using. I've run into similar issues before and have had some luck even opening them on a Mac - emailing them to a PC - and cleaning up the encryption garf. Don't panic & Good luck. I use this software also, but I believe it only converts works ss files to excel. It does a great job and does "mass" conversion. Have you tried opening it on a Mac with MS Works? Since Macs read PC disks, it might work. I have a Mac with Works 3.0 on it if you want to email me the file.
