[IRCA] 2 New Stations tonight......Including ULR STATE #41.....ARKANSAS!!!!
Hi Guys: Doing some DXing before hitting the hay tonight and I have just logged 2 NEW STATIONS in the past 15 Minutes.including ULR STATE # 41Arkansas I have been trying to hear 1090 KAAY Little Rock, ARKANSAS for the past 2 Years.Finally tonight I heard a Nice Clear ID of 1090 KAAY Dot Com. I think I've had this one at Sunset a few timesbut could never hear an ID to go with the Gospel Programming. Heard this at 2157 EDT. This a RELOG for the Overall log but happy to finally add it to the ULR Log! The other NEW Station is 910 WDOR Sturgeon Bay, WISC heard at 2137 EDT with 1 KW/102 Watts Nights. This may have been just before their Power Down @ 2145 EDT. I'm just on my little Netbook right nowand will type up the Detailed Logs later when I get on a better Keyboard. Didn't expect to hear much tonightglad I turned the Sony SRF-T615 on for some DXing!! Both stations heard BAREFOOT!! 73...ROB VA3SW Robert S. Hi Guys: Last night I did some tuning on the BCB before hitting the hay. I didn't expect to hear much as things have been pretty sparse around here lately. To my surprise I was able to hear 2 NEW Stations for the ULR LOG in about 15 Minutes!! I have been trying to Log 1090 KAAY Little Rock, Arkansas on the ULR's since Jan of 2008it was my closest unheard State. Arkansas is State # 41 for Ultralight Radio... Also bagged a New One on 910 as well... Radio Used is.SONY SRF- T615 ULR Barefoot ^ ULR LOG TOTALS are now.833 Stations Heard ^^ 73..ROB VA3SW Robert S. I am not sure, but there has been a lot storms in plains state over the past week. Perhaps they have been on day power and pattern because of this? From here, it is unusual to here them at night, and I have had them in every night for the 7 days. Just an idea. [IRCA] Kanton Island and Hard Times
Kanton Island was the home of WXLE-1385, a station in the AFRTS model which I believe had 250 watts and was intended to serve residents who operated the radiobeacon and Pan Am Airways communications. In the early 70's this station (then called Canton Island) made occasional appearances throughout the US. I heard their carrier (presumed, it was then the only station anywhere on 1385) but never any audio. It was often reported on the west coast. [IRCA] DX update from northern Delaware - possible 4VEH??
DX update from northern Delaware: I snagged the below recording this evening (10-May) starting at 2059 local on 840 khz. with presumed WHAS phase nulled. I'm reasonably sure that this is 4VEH from Haiti. Indeed, I think that I hear Ici la Cap Haitien, vous ecoutez Radio 4VEH, la voix ... starting at 55 seconds into the clip. That said, I'd appreciate getting a second opinion from the medium wave DXing community that it was indeed 4VEH that I heard.
