[IRCA] 830 kHz 1:40 am WEEU? under WCCO
Heard them say call letters but could only make out the W. at 1:05am CDT I heard them say what sounded like "more news, more often", then something about exercise, then "Coast to Coast 1-800"-???-, then "sorry to keep you waiting" at :30 "Talk Radio". The MA & NC stations aren't listed on Coast to Coast website, only CA & PA. So might I claim it as heard? Also, something interesting WCCO co-broadcasting with WBZ right now, with WBZ running about a second behind. 73, George S., MN ___ IRCA mailing list IRCA@hard-core-dx.com http://montreal.kotalampi.com/mailman/listinfo/irca Opinions expressed in messages on this mailing list are those of the original contributors and do not necessarily reflect the opinion of the IRCA, its editors, publishing staff, or officers For more information: http://www.ircaonline.org To Post a message: irca@hard-core-dx.com

[IRCA] a little TA audio
The big one here for me seems to be 1053, couple of men talking in the murk and splash; if I could grab a few words, I might be able to verify using the TalkSport webstream, but all I can say is that the tone of the voices is similar, not enough for an ID. A little talk also on 1377, likely France. That seems to be the case here too Kevin. Some are strong enough to be threshold audio, but just aren't, such as 747, 783, 855 (with a SAH), 1215, 1269, 1377, and 1422. Re: [IRCA] Lotsa West Coast TA hets
I just had some weak audio on 1062 (Denmark?), but unfortunately it is very close in bearing to 1060-Calgary, so no chance of nulling the pest, and it was mostly mumbling in the splash. 1377 is still the strongest het, but 1380-Everett will likely keep it from turning into anything. In the last half hour, the freqs you mention below, plus 783, 1269, 1278 1341 and 1422 had weak hets. This is on an Icom R75, and a 9x10 foot indoor Super Loop with the Wellbrook FLG-100 feeding it. Re: [IRCA] ESPN Deportes on 1260
Neil At 0400 UT I had a mix of CFRN and KPOW, but at 0403 they faded down and Spanish talk took over. By 0405 it was a mix of all three with CFRN mostly dominating. My Spanish isn't all that good, but the SS station mentioned futbol among other things. I don't know if it's KWEI, but if it's them it sounds too strong for the listed 60 watts night power and too weak for the listed 10 kw day power. [IRCA] Puyallup, WA Ultralight TP's for 9-11
Hello All, Asiatic propagation was very good again this morning, with the "big gun" Japanese TP's like 594, 747 and 774 kHz having strong signals like yesterday. The Chinese stations on 639, 756, 927, 936 and 1377 which had been producing threshold audio are now fading in and out with weak Chinese, and the first strong TP mix of the season was recorded on 1134 kHz, with JOQR and KBS both fighting it out with good signal strength. A mystery music station continues to be heard under the 1053-Korean Jammer, and another mystery Japanese station continues to weakly show up on 738 kHz (when Taiwan loses its usual propagation edge). The duration of sunrise enhancement continues to be short in this inland location, even with good propagation-- TP signals usually have collapsed around 1335 here recently. Congratulations to Richard Allen for receiving several TP's on his Tecsun PL-310 Ultralight in Oklahoma-- a remarkable example of the skillful use of propagation. The new DX Season should provide a lot of excitement for those ULR-DXers (and others) willing to "push their luck" in a similar manner! The following were received on a C.Crane SWP Slider model (7.5" loopstick) inductively coupled to a 7.5' PVC tuned passive loop in the back yard: 558 JOCR Kobe, Japan Fair signal around peak propagation at 1318 594 JOAK Tokyo, Japan Good strength with Japanese program at 1307 603 HLSA (presumed) Threshold audio around 1320, apparently Korean 639 CNR1 Beijing, China Weak music and Chinese speech in and out at 1322 648 VOR Razdolnoye, Russia Weak Chinese speech at 1317, faded fast 657 Pyongyang N. Hey Bruce: I had about what you had, plus a couple additions. The Super Loop/FLG-100 made 774 possible with 770 in a good back null. Also, I had really good reception of 594 and 747, so perhaps 10 miles away makes a difference. [IRCA] TP DX This morning
With everyone else hearing TPs now, I decided it was time to start listening. I recorded from 1220 to 1340 this morning and found conditions ok for this early in the season, but not all that impressive. There were lots of carriers in the low and mid part of the band, with audio on a few of them. I didn't check the upper part of the band. Re: [IRCA] Alberta TAs
Lots of carriers across the band tonight, with weak audio noted from France on 1377, Spain on 855, and Germany on 1269. Germany is actually doing quite well at the moment. Many TA carriers noted up here as well. Only one developed any audio, 1215-UK, and that was poor at best. Did a brief check a few moments ago on the overnight Perseus recordings I had made and I could see many DU or TP signals on the display. Will check more when I have the time. [IRCA] Alberta TP/DU for 11 Sep 2010
Yes, Steve and I seem to be getting out of sync, as this was easily the best TP morning thus far, with audio from the following: 567 - Japan 594 - Japan 693 - Japan 738 - unID w/woman speaking at 1157, perhaps Taiwan 747 - Japan 774 - Japan 828 - Japan 972 - S.Korea 1089 - unID, with traces of audio at 1159 1566 - S.Korea 1575 - VOA Thailand But, I haven't entirely left the "parallel universe" as Gary termed it, as the DU signals also made an appearance at the top end of the dial just before sunrise. 1422 - faint traces of audio 1476 - noted with music at 1258 1521 - faint music, Aussie-accented man in English 1548 - 4QD, with talk, then ABC news theme music at 1300 1566 - 3NE, music, mixing with Korea after 1250 UTC 1628.95 - The same country music station I heard last week, but very weak. 73, Nigel Pimblett Dunmore, Alberta ___ IRCA mailing list IRCA@hard-core-dx.com http://montreal.kotalampi.com/mailman/listinfo/irca Opinions expressed in messages on this mailing list are those of the original contributors and do not necessarily reflect the opinion of the IRCA, its editors, publishing staff, or officers For more information: http://www.ircaonline.org To Post a message: irca@hard-core-dx.com

[IRCA] 650 with NOS/Jazz?
Correct. When I lived in Newton, MA and this station (WSRO-650) was a local, I noticed many times that they did not switch to night power (listed as 9 watts) until exactly 2 hours after local sunset. So, they must have a PSSA.
