[IRCA] TP 22 Jan Victoria version
Nothing on the upper band, and although there was a minor "sunrise" enhancement, stronger and more numerous signals were generally heard around 1330UT. Mostly Asian again, but some possible DU. pretty darn good audio (all of it understandable by a native speaker, at least briefly): 747 JOIB briefly managed to put the splatter at bay 1523UT with woman in Japanese. Hung in fairly well to s/off, though not at this peak level, brief "NHK...hoso" mention by woman at 1540UT, anthem and music box fading out after 1543UT. Also heard quite well around 1330UT Reasonable audio at times during the period (much of it understandable by a native speaker, though often battling w/splash or noise): 774 JOUB man in Japanese 1340UT, woman in Chinese; someone else was fading up a little earlier as well, but too garbled to guess. not so reasonable audio, occasional words or phrases in splash or noise could be understood by a native speaker: 567 JOIK woman in Japanese //594 1329UT, but a man in DU English was also there and often dominant (New Zealand??) 594 JOAK man in Japanese 1319UT Burbles in the splatter and noise (if lucky, language might be guessed at by cadence of talk, or parallel established by changes in talk or music) 828 JOBB woman in Japanese //747 1522UT; also heard briefly around 1336UT 891 JOHK man talking //594 1334UT 1017 jazzy instrumental mx 1000UT, then a female vocal, if Tonga, didn't sound like a s/off 1116 sounded like a sports broadcast by man across 1000UT, DU English? Strongish het, no or "near imaginary" audio (either undermodulated or ravaged by splatter) 612 1242 1287 1566 best wishes, Nick ___ ___ IRCA mailing list IRCA@hard-core-dx.com http://montreal.kotalampi.com/mailman/listinfo/irca Opinions expressed in messages on this mailing list are those of the original contributors and do not necessarily reflect the opinion of the IRCA, its editors, publishing staff, or officers For more information: http://www.ircaonline.org To Post a message: irca@hard-core-dx.com

Re: [IRCA] AU CX in Michigan
Thanks Neil. I'd be happy to lend a hand with the antenna work if I were a bit closer. Hope you get back to reporting DX soon, but like many of us, I'm sure you have a lifetime's worth of SDR recordings to keep you occupied until things improve. 73, -Tim On Wed, Jan 20, 2016 at 11:06 PM, Neil Kazaross wrote: > Great stuff! Re: [IRCA] 1500khz someone with very noisy sidebands
I've wondered this too, if there's a correlation between the screeching sidebands and WPSO. I'm hearing both fairly decent right now at 0120 UTC tonight. Regardless, the screeching is most noticeable here too on my South antenna. 73, Tim Tromp West Michigan On Fri, Jan 22, 2016 at 8:10 PM, Neil Kazaross wrote: > Been noticing this since the fall on south antenna. [IRCA] Is KTIQ 1660 Merced CA really Anvictio?
--- Begin Message --- KTIQ 1660 in Merced CA is listed with the slogan ``Radio Anvictio`` Anvictio is a very strange word, not Spanish, maybe Latin? It exists on the internet only in DX lists of X-band stations, for KTIQ. Also in the NRC AM Log. Search engines suggest it might have meant Invicta, and so do I. Maybe ``Anvictio`` results from someone`s original misheard log? Streema.com calls it ``Al Centro De Avivamiento Amistad Cristiana``. Possibly it is a proper name or a made-up word KTIQ applies to itself. If anyone can hear the station clearly, or has a QSL in print, please enlighten us (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST) --- End Message --- ___ IRCA mailing list IRCA@hard-core-dx.com http://montreal.kotalampi.com/mailman/listinfo/irca Opinions expressed in messages on this mailing list are those of the original contributors and do not necessarily reflect the opinion of the IRCA, its editors, publishing staff, or officers For more information: http://www.ircaonline.org To Post a message: irca@hard-core-dx.com
