Hi Walt,
you are right, the first line in the schedule should be replaced by:
0300-0700 Golos Rossii (Voice of Russia) in Russian

0700-1530 RKS to the Baltics
1600-2000 VOR German to Central Europe

2200-2400 RMR to the Baltics

Hope this clarifies the situation a bit,

That does clarify things, Mauno. Thanks! One observation, though. 1215
is being heard in Russian in the 02:00 to 05:00 time period, so the
schedule is not entirely accurate. I wonder what the schedule is during
this time frame, since I've heard the RMR ID, and Patrick has heard the

Hi Walt,
OK, I will check that with SDR-IQ. The schedule originates from VOR, but VOR
schedule is usually unreliable. But there may be confusion in the ID because
also RMR mentions Golos Rossii in it's ID.

Hmmm. They don't ID as such in Russian, which would be Golos Rossii, at
least not what I've heard. Any other Russia experts out there to confirm? I
just checked the website now (14:30) and they have various programs including
the Commonwealth
program (Soldruzhetsvo), World service, and Russian International Radio. Seems
that Golos Rossii is the umbrella organization for all of these programs.
This might be something like what the USSR used to do with various surrogate

Hi, Patrick. That would be Golos Rossii or Voice of Russia. So
perhaps this is an umbrella ID that's used as well for a number of
foreign service Russian programming, but not including Mayak, and
Radio Rossii which is for domestic consumption.

Golos Rossii is what is used for the umbrella organization as you
suggest per some research. This includes both the Radio Rossii and
Radio Majak programs as well as, I believe one other.

Russ, the one other is the Sodruzhetsvo or Commonwealth service in Russian to
the Republics of the former Soviet Union. I didn't notice any references to

You know, Patrick, thinking back to the days of the cold war and the USSR,
sending reception reports to Radio Moscow yielded QSLs much more often than

Patrick, I'd say that mail theft is rampant, especially mail to outlying areas.
I would under no circumstances put any cash in the envelope. Mint stamps, if
you must, but no greenbacks! Asking for mail theft that way. I'd use a very
non-descript

Good Evening:

It's been a frustrating evening all right, Dennis. I've noticed weak
audio several times on 1215; only other audios have been 1017 and
765, and only for a few seconds at a time. Best carriers otherwise
have been 675, 1134, 1377 and 1494.

But.finally got a nice stretch on 765, woman talking, though not
good enough for any hope of a language ID, but a few second laters,
went into an instrumental, and that sequence was followed on the web
stream of Radio Suisse Romande Option Musique .

Sonew country for me. Very pleased with this after my lack of
success on 531 a couple of nights ago.

best wishes,

Nick

Interesting, Nick. I'm getting audio on 765 (strongest on the lower half) at
05:07, but would rate it only a 6..Walt.

Only thing good enough to hear on 1215 here in IL is Virgin again, but there
is something else seemignly there and not Spanish. Rossi plays mellow mx,
don't they ? But anyhow, all that comes audible seems to have a rock type
beat.

Denmark on 1062 decent on peaks if anyone needs them. Guy speaking Danish
was rather clear a while ago.

Neil, the Russian station plays a variety of music. So far, it's all been
Russian, but I would not categorize it as any one genre. When I heard them
clearly a week ago, or so, they did not ID as
Radio Rossii, but as another program/station. That is, Russkoye
Mezhdunarodnoye Radiyo, which translates as Russian International Radio, as
opposed to Russia's Radio (Radio Rossii) which is more of a domestic network.

Congratulations on Russia on 1215. All of the talking that I have heard from

Bill, as I understand it, it's a 1200 kw transmitter in Kalinigrad, that part
of European Russian which is geographically separate from the rest of Russia.
Used to belong to Germany (East Prussia, I think it was called between the
first and second world wars). Bordered by Belarus on the south and one of the
Baltic countries (which one, I have forgotten) to the north. .Walt.
