[IRCA] Russian-1710

2010-10-30 Thread Patrick Martin
The Russian (Puget Sound) station is quite decent tonight. The best I
have heard them in months, between S3-S5 off the NE EWE.
I noticed the KEX IBC is also back. Plus KXOR 660 is indeed back on
the air.

[IRCA] Russian 1710

2010-01-29 Thread Patrick Martin
The Russian from the Puget Sound is back in tonight with soft music.
The first time I have heard audio out of this for a couple months. Maybe
they cranked up the power again.

Re: [IRCA] Russian 1710

2010-01-11 Thread Kevin S
Hi Nigel:

I am about 15-20 miles WSW of the transmitter, and I heard a female voice
WAY down in the noise last night. I couldn't tell if it was Russian,
Martian or other. For some reason I was never able to get it very clearly
when others were - the new indoor Super Loop is a lot quieter, so perhaps
that is why I am getting something. So, if I am hearing anything at all,
it must be fairly close, and may indeed be the RR station. I will try
again tonight.

How about you guys in Seattle proper???

 Nigel,

I'm probably about 140 miles South of the Russian speaking station that
 was
being heard throughout the Pacific Northwest. Heard many evenings on the
NW ewe and Kiwa loop. At 0419 utc I'm getting a very weak het about a
 level 3.
Will continue to check throughout the evening. At 0423 utc very faint
 audio
with man talking, can not ID language. Will continue to check throughout
 the
 evening.

 Best regards,

 Dennis.,

Noted a station on 1710 (well, a shade low) tonight with programming
that sure seems to fit the Seattle area Russian station discussed some
months back. It's not strong enough to be 100% certain it's Russian,
but the music certainly fits. For some reason during the speech segment
I was hearing two women speaking, almost like a second station, but it
wasn't, as when the music resumed things returned to normal. If
someone could confirm that the Seattle station is still on it would be
 appreciated.

1710 is weaker. It has been for the past several months. I was going to
post it, but it slipped my mind. I wonder if they got concerned on how
well it was getting out?
Maybe something else?

Pat,

Anything is possible but I would think that a FE Russian would be
operating on 1711.

You can be sure, I will try again tonight! Hopefully others will give it
a shot too. I was hoping when I posted the tip, others would have been
at the dials, but I guess everyone was in bed. If it shows up again,
which I hope, but if it doesn't, I do have 90 minutes on a cassette to
share with anyone that is interested. I can easily burn to a CD too.

I wonder if it could be a pirate, very professional sounding for a
pirate though and it had that Russian station sound. I was wondering,
as there are a lot of Russians in the Puget Sound area. 1590-Seattle
broadcasts in Russian. But if a Puget Sound Pirate, I am sure someone
would have reported it by now.
