Re: [IRCA] Ear phone / bud question

2007-12-01 Thread George Sherman
I would think that any earbuds that work for stereo (FM) would work for mono
(AM)? Guess the best places to look are online sites like Amazon, where there
is a big selection and good descriptions, with user ratings. Once you decide
which should be best, you can check other sites like eBay. Also try putting
earbuds into google.com/products to get prices from many sellers. 73, George

I used to buy, at Radio Shack, these single, mono ear buds that were foam
covered and much more comfortable then the plastic plug kind. It seems that
Radio Shack no longer carries these. I have hunted and hunted for them.
Does anyone know some place that still sells these?

Stephen,
This might be a pia for you to do but in building a super lightweight cw
rig where the lightest weight is a bonus in contest sprints (Spartan Sprint)
I scavenged the mono earplug from a cheap hands-free phone earpiece/mic set
from Walmart. It is a foam covered earpiece that doesn't plug into the
ear. However, my best performing earbuds are The Plug by Koss, but they
plug into the ear with a tube extending almost to the end of the plug so
that the sound is really channeled deep. They cost 14-18 bucks depending on
source.
