Thanks for the report!

Even though the NSInteger* is a pointer to a static type (and not an object)
and can never be nil (nil is just "(id)0" thus is essentially NULL equivalent)
the check should be there in either case.

[jira] [Resolved] (CB-12257) xhr.send fails on Cordova File object - maybe because it's not an instanceof Blob?

Resolution: Not A Problem

Used the FileTransfer plugin instead.

> Android: 6.0.1
> Cordova Android: 6.0.0
> Desktop OS: OS X 10.12.1
> Desktop Safari: 10.0.1
> AWS S3 SDK is documented at:
> http://docs.aws.amazon.com/AWSJavaScriptSDK/latest/AWS/S3/ManagedUpload.html
> On both Android and iOS, using the Cordova File System plugin, and in OS X
> Safari using the File Input HTML tag, my test app successfully retrieves a
> File object in every case from the local file system.
> In each of the three cases, the app invokes the Amazon S3 Javascript API
> upload method with this File object. In desktop Safari the file uploads
> correctly and appears in the S3 bucket correctly.
> In the Cordova apps, both iOS and Android, the file seems to upload correctly
> (no errors), but the resulting (correctly named) file in the bucket contains
> only the 15-byte text string "\[object Object\]".
> The app uses the same HTML and JS source files in all three cases; after
> creating the File object the code is identical, and because they run from the
> same HTML page, the meta information is also the same.
> Because the S3 API upload method supports multipart uploads, it invokes the
> File.slice method on the File before passing it to xhr.send. In the desktop
> Safari implementation of the File object, the slice method returns a Blob
> object. In the Cordova implementation (as documented in the source code at
> line 47 of File.js) it returns another File object.
> Tracing through to the xhr.send function in the S3 API, the desktop version
> delivers a Blob as the argument to xhr.send(), and the file is uploaded
> correctly. The Cordova versions deliver a File as the argument to xhr.send(),
> and the uploads fail.
> Although the File object in desktop Safari is an instanceof Blob, the Cordova
> File object is not an instanceof Blob, which might explain why xhr.send can't
> cope with it.

> < true
> > params.Body instanceof Blob
> < true
> {code}

> The documentation here
> (https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/API/XMLHttpRequest/send)

Hi, I think this Pull Request is very important, for now we cannot propose
to the user of our applications to pick a picture.

Is the Cordova team planning to merge this PR soon ?

Thanks

Do someone is interested in solving this issue after 10 months? We're not able
to access the SD Card in winphone 8.1 yet.

> The call to window.requestFileSystem(LocalFileSystem.PERSISTENT, 0,
> function() {}); does not detect the root storage location in windows phone
> 8.x. Rather it points to private data directory,even after adding the
> capability for accessing the local file system (removableStorage) in
> AppManifest.xml.
> Basically window.requestFileSystem(LocalFileSystem.PERSISTENT,
> 0,function(fileSystem) {}, function(error){}) gives me only "ms-appx://local"
> path which is actually the private data directory for an app in windows
> phone. I want to access the root directory of the file system because I am
> letting the user to store app specific files anywhere in the phone. (It works
> in Android without specifying anything)
> Basically the above LocalFileSystem.PERSISTENT should not point to private
> data directory, rather it should be the root directory of the local file
> system.

[jira] [Created] (CB-12339) On OS X platform, closing the main window leaves the app open but you can't restore the main view

2017-01-10 Thread Paul Connolley (JIRA)
Paul Connolley created CB-12339:
---

 Summary: On OS X platform, closing the main window leaves the app
open but you can't restore the main view
 Key: CB-12339
 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/CB-12339
 Project: Apache Cordova
  Issue Type: Bug
  Components: OSX
Affects Versions: 6.4.0
 Environment: macOS Sierra
Reporter: Paul Connolley
Assignee: Tobias Bocanegra
Priority: Minor

(I do apologise if this is covered in the documentation but I couldn't find any
mention of it anywhere. Also, this is my first ticket here so I apologise if
I'm putting this in the wrong place!)

1. I created a new Cordova app and added the osx platform (cordova platform add
osx) and then ran `cordova run osx`.
2. The app built with no problems and launched the app.
3. I then clicked the 'close' button on the app and it closed the main window
4. Then I clicked the app icon in the dock - expecting it to restore the main
window - but nothing happened.

This seems a little odd but I'd have expected either:

* The app to close when clicking the close button; or
* The window to be restored after clicking the dock icon

Ideally, it'd be lovely if there was a way to decide which of the above
behaviours was available. At the least, I'd probably expect one of these as a
default.

Any help would be appreciated here. If I'm being dim and it's in the
documentation, my apologies!

[jira] [Commented] (CB-12335) captureVideo() crashes the app when running to an android 6.0 or 7.0 emulator

2017-01-10 Thread Zia Sergio (JIRA)

Zia Sergio commented on CB-12335:
-

I have found a solution to resolve the first problem detected using an android
6.0 emulator.

Here is my modified captureVideo() function :

{code:title=Capture.java}
private void captureVideo(Request req) {
boolean needExternalStoragePermission =
!PermissionHelper.hasPermission(this,
Manifest.permission.READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE);

boolean needCameraPermission = cameraPermissionInManifest &&
!PermissionHelper.hasPermission(this,
Manifest.permission.CAMERA);

if (needExternalStoragePermission || needCameraPermission) {
if (needExternalStoragePermission && needCameraPermission) {
PermissionHelper.requestPermissions(this, req.requestCode, new
String[]{Manifest.permission.READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE,
Manifest.permission.CAMERA});
} else if (needExternalStoragePermission) {
PermissionHelper.requestPermission(this, req.requestCode,
Manifest.permission.READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE);
} else {
PermissionHelper.requestPermission(this, req.requestCode,
Manifest.permission.CAMERA);
}
} else {
Intent intent = new
Intent(android.provider.MediaStore.ACTION_VIDEO_CAPTURE);

if(Build.VERSION.SDK_INT > 7){
intent.putExtra("android.intent.extra.durationLimit",
req.duration);
intent.putExtra("android.intent.extra.videoQuality",
req.quality);
}
this.cordova.startActivityForResult((CordovaPlugin) this, intent,
req.requestCode);
}
}
{code}

The second problem seems related to the virtual camera of the android 7.0
emulator.
I had the opportunity to check using an android 7.1 Nexus device and the video
capture works fine ! (using the modified function above)

> My app has a header that is position: fixed.
> When upgrading from Cordova iOS 4.2.1 to 4.3.1 the header was no longer
> visible when the app first loaded, although scrolling the page slightly
> caused the header to be displayed again.
> Downgrading to Cordova iOS 4.2.1 has resolved the problem.
> I don't know what could be causing the issue - I've looked through the diff
> between the two versions and the release notes, but can't see what would have
> caused something like this.
> The only thing I'm changing to reproduce the issue is the Cordova iOS
> platform version, I've rolled it forwards and backwards several times and it
> happens consistently. I can provide a video if that helps. It would be useful
> if someone with some knowledge of the codebase could suggest changes between
> these two versions that may have caused a problem such as this.
> Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks.
