Paste special has memory - i.e. once you've set the desired elements to paste,
they will be remembered next time you paste special.

I think that someone who gets 12th of November for 12-11 may stumble
upon the option and retry with special numbers unchecked. Whereas someone
who imported wrong text being unaware of data types can not recognize why
his spreadsheet does not work properly, especially when all the data look
 alright.

Impossible to satisfy both users described above.

In this case, the best solution IMHO will be window rearrangement where all
elements are visible with no collapsed part, i.e. just expanded window.

The settings are preserved for the current session only. The initial defaults
need to be overriden twice. First you turn off All, then you select what you
need which is most certainly not checked by default.
The defaults confuse new users, sporadic Calc users and (of course) Excel
users.
In short: They make the program look stupid.

Impossible to satisfy both users described above.
 IMHO enhancement not required.

This is why configuration settings with reasonable defaults exist. The
configuation settings allow every user to adjust the software, reasonable
defaults allow the developer to pre-configure the most likely or most
convenient variant.
My second suggestion for the same issue would obsolete the whole setting.

2. Open Writer by selecting OpenOffice Writer from the Start Menu or by running
swriter.exe.
Expected: Writer should start and function as normal.
Actual: the main window is invisible and isn't in the alt+tab task switcher or
the running applications bar (so it's impossible to switch back to Writer once
you switch away). Furthermore, text cannot be accessed via the accessibility
hierarchy. The menus can be accessed, though.

The nss libraries that are critical for AOO's security are currently at version
3.12.6 (from 2010-03-03) and they are overdue for an update. The latest updates
of nss were 3.14.4 (on 2013-10-23) and 3.15.2 (on 2013-09-25). As the 3.14 is
well maintained and the update to 3.15 would require much more work the update
to 3.14 looks like the easier upgrade path for now.

[Bug 123638] New: Paragraph indenting does not apply when the paragraph has an image bullet

Created attachment 81882
  -- https://issues.apache.org/ooo/attachment.cgi?id=81882action=edit
Simple text with bulleted paragraphs and a named style.

When a paragraphs is bulleted with an image bullet, one cannot apply a named
style having for example indents, especially, but not only, right indent.

See attached example.

Steps to reproduce:

- create a paragraph style with indenting, for example 5cm to the left, 5cm to
the right. I called this style Paragraph with reduced width.

- type a few paragraphs of text.

- add a bullet to some of the paragraph (menu Format / Bullets and numbering),
and use one of those bullets from the Image tab.

- try to apply the Paragraph with reduced width style:
- on unbulleted paragraphs it works as expected, the paragraph will resize
according to the indents
- on bulleted paragraphs nothings happens, the indenting is not applied.

- when moving the paragraph's indent anchors (on the tabs bar) the indents are
now applied to this paragraph. If I move for example the right indent anchor,
it applies and the left indent (defined by the named style) also suddenly
applies. If I double click the named style (from the styles popup window) it
goes back to the unindented state, even if the styles defines indentation.

Following installation run as administrator neither runing OpenOffice as

The accprobe.exe utility became non-functional and had to be restarted. But
evan after restart would not see the AOO session. No affect on NVDA--except
that it also would not register any elements of the AOO session except the
frame.

System reboot was required for Accprobe.exe to again be stable. But no change

Evolution=2.0 was released in 2004. It uses a address book format that is
supported by the evoab2 driver. The old format of Evolution=1.x was supported
indirectly via the evoab driver that depended on the OOo's seamonkey address
book integration. Platforms where the pre-2004 Evolution app runs are way below
the baseline of AOO so the evoab driver can be dropped.

ALG: Graphics being modified using brightness, contrast, color mode,
transparency, red, green, blue or gamma will now apply these to the underlying
vector graphics. This increases rendering (screen) and export (PDF, print)
quality if these attributes are used. The ugly blocks from the initial comment
will now be avoided.

[Bug 119118] z command in d attribute in svg sets the 'current point' wrong

2013-11-05 Thread bugzilla
https://issues.apache.org/ooo/show_bug.cgi?id=119118

--- Comment #17 from Armin Le Grand armin.le.gr...@me.com ---
ALG: Hi Regina, I do not get what you want to have changed here. Maybe because
we mix too many different things. Thus:
- What need for change do you see in the ODF case?
- What need for change do you see in the SVG import case?
From my POV both look pretty good, except the not corectable mess with relative
startpoints of sub-polygons in the ODF case where I think we have a good
compromize. Have you tried exporting ODF in a current version, it will produce
a svg:d which will not have that old error, but can be loaded in all
OOO/AOO-versions; it should also be usable in svg's directly since it's a valid
svg:d without that old relative offset error.
On import the situation is as you propose: The default is to correctly read all
existing ODFs, thus it is unavoidable to keep the error in ODF svg:d import. I
see no way to get rid of this, the better solution would be if all ODF
producers would adapt to writing svg:d without that error in the future, as I
have already done.

[Bug 123499] Format Object Area Bitmaps: Pattern Editor not active

2013-11-05 Thread bugzilla
https://issues.apache.org/ooo/show_bug.cgi?id=123499

--- Comment #6 from Armin Le Grand armin.le.gr...@me.com ---
ALG: @Graham: The pattern editor gets active when a bitmap with 8x8, 2 colors,
is selected. If you no longer have that first default bitmap 'Blank' you may do
as Regina says or just create one with a graphic editor and import it. If it
has the format described above (file format is not important) it will activate
the pattern editor.
Yes, it would be nice to have a button like 'new pattern...' which would add
such a bitmap, sigh. Maybe this would be a nice feature; OTOH that pattern
editor is pretty old stuff; it is from times where it was difficult to start a
pixel editor as a 2nd program and just copy/paste what you need from there.
This has really changed, so I would even think about if that pattern editor is
still needed. Which other offoce package does still offer something like
that...?

Please add all information requested in following:
a) What is the Main Window? Spash screen?

d) Attach screenshots with comments if you believe that that might explain the
problem better than a text comment. Best way is to insert your screenshots
into a DRAW document and to add comments that explain what you want to show
e) if possible contribute an instruction how to create a sample document
  from the scratch
f) add information
f1) Where do you see relation to Assitive Technology support?
  f3) concerning your PC
f4) concerning your Operating System (Version, Distribution, Language)
f5) concerning your AOO version (with Build/revision ID if it's not a
public release) and localization (UI language, Locale setting)
f6) AOO settings that might be related to your problems
f8) Whether your problem persists when you renamed your user profile
(Quit Quickstart before!) before you launch AOO (please see

f9) Whether that worked in former OOO / AOO Versions
f10) Win7: what if you launch as administrator?

Even if you can not provide all demanded information, every little new
information might bring the breakthrough.

I reduce this one to the built in heading duplicated problem with
TOC-MarkText-CustomHeadingStyles-1.doc

Steps how to reproduce Reproducible with server installation of AOO 4.1.0-Dev
– German UI / German locale - [AOO410m1(Build:9750) - Rev. 1537973 -
2013-11-03] on German WIN7 Home Premium (64bit), own separate user profile:

0. Download / Unzip Attachment 81858 for Bug 123602
1. From AOO start Center open TOC-MarkText-CustomHeadingStyles-1.doc
TOC looks fine
2. On TOC 'Rightclick - Update'
Bug: all items Built-in heading for page 5 become duplicated:-(
3. On TOC 'Rightclick - Edit Indix/Table - Index/Table'
4. Uncheck Additional Styles
Looks fine again

(a) Root for the problem seemsto be Additional Styles, currently I can't tell
whether the main problem is that
(a1) 'Rightclick - Edit Indix/Table -
Index/Table - Additional Styles' is checked in the imported .doc
 or
(a2) that Custom Heading 4 is activated in the styles selector in
 Additional Styles
 My suspect: (a1)
(b) not a new problem, already reproducible with AOO 3.4.0, OOo 3.1.1

(c) Already reproducible with Pre-3.4.0 (OOo 3.1.1), but because of crippled
Version selector (Bug 123063) no useful info can be left
(d) Latest confirmation for AOO 4.1.0-dev, but because of incomplete
LCo selector (Bug 123063) no correct information can be left.

(e) This one looks similar to
Bug 71231 - Table of Contents Additional Styles duplicates, but
strange. OOo 2.0.2 reproduces Bug 71231, but not this one here (although
'Additional Styles' activated for both sample documents).
AOO 4.1.0-dev reproduces problems in both sample documents.
So it seems there have been changes in between

Tricky!

@Edwin Sharp
Can you please submit separate Bug reports (with reference to the test kit

My apologies. My understanding was that the [ia2] prefix was sufficient to
communicate that bugs were specific to the ia2 branch, as suggested on the dev
mailing list.

This was tested with an ia2 branch build with rev 1536988. There is a later
build, but it is apparently quite broken.

It seems to only happen with assistive technology support enabled and if an
assistive technology is running when you start Writer. I tested with NVDA. I
suspect it isn't relevant, but for reference, I'm running Windows 7 x64.

I cannot reproduce this. This build works just as well as the previous build
for me.

You note that you did a clean install, but I'm curious as to how clean.
Apparently, uninstalling previous builds didn't unregister UAccCOM.dll
properly, which can cause all sorts of trouble, particularly as the new build
doesn't register UAccCOM.dll at all (because it no longer needs to). If you
suspect this might be the case, I'd recommend you install the old build,
regsvr32 /u UAccCOM.dll, then reinstall the new build.

Yes, by embedding a manifest into the dll and calling several actctx apis to
 activate. :)
I just submitted the code several hours ago. I think the build will be ready
 at noon tomorrow.
I tested with the 1538508 build. It doesn't register UAccCOM.dll but still
works for me, which is excellent. Thanks! Stuart is experiencing trouble with
it (bug 123640), but I can't reproduce this and suspect it might be due to
UAccCOM.dll not being unregistered by the previous build.

The only thing is that I don't see the importlib for oleacc.dll in svn yet. I'm
guessing you just haven't had a chance to do this yet, but it should be done
before this bug is closed.

[Bug 123643] New: [ia2] IAccessible2 is not enabled automatically even with an AT running

2013-11-05 Thread bugzilla
https://issues.apache.org/ooo/show_bug.cgi?id=123643

Bug ID: 123643
Issue Type: DEFECT
Summary: [ia2] IAccessible2 is not enabled automatically even
with an AT running
   Product: General
   Version: 4.1.0-dev
  Hardware: PC
OS: Windows, all
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: P3
 Component: accessibility
  Assignee: issues@openoffice.apache.org
  Reporter: ja...@nvaccess.org
CC: issues@openoffice.apache.org

This applies only to the ia2 branch. Tested with the 1538508 build.

IAccessible2 support should be enabled automatically (permanently or just for
the session) if an assistive technology application is detected. Ideally, this
would be done dynamically based on WM_GETOBJECT, but SPI_SETSCREENREADER is
also a possibility.

I thought this worked previously and this page seems to suggest it does using
the SPI_SETSCREENREADER flag:
https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/OOOUSERS/Tips+for+branch+ia2
However, if I delete my configuration with the 1538508 build and then run
OpenOffice while NVDA is running, I get no IAccessible2. NVDA does use
SPI_SETSCREENREADER.

I know this can be forced with a registry patch, but this really is a hack and
isn't reasonable for most users. Even an installer option isn't ideal, since a
screen reader user with a portable screen reader might wish to use OpenOffice
on a system on which they didn't install it themselves; e.g. public access
situation.

[Bug 121762] [ia2] Should not need to start application as administrator first time

--- Comment #19 from James Teh ja...@nvaccess.org ---
(In reply to James Teh from comment #17)
When I delete my OO config data and start OO, it doesn't seem to enable IA2
automatically based on the SPI_SETSCREENREADER flag.
Filed bug 123643 for this.

please see attached file (standard word document).
I created it from scratch using OO writer 4.0.
Indentation is OK until item number 10.
At that point, the text gets shifted by one extra tab stop.
I have no idea why. I deleted the text and item 10 altogether, typed it again,
same result.

I started from 9c), then click on enter, went to 9d). Then I clicked on the
white arrow (Promote one level) of the Bullets and Numbering taskbar.
Got 10 instead of 9d, but with the extra tab stop.

I hope this helps, please contact me in case you have additional questions.

[Bug 123640] refactored UAccCOM for rev 1538508 ia2 branch completely non-functional [ia2]

2013-11-05 Thread bugzilla
https://issues.apache.org/ooo/show_bug.cgi?id=123640

--- Comment #4 from V Stuart Foote vstuart.fo...@utsa.edu ---
Jamie, Steve

(In reply to James Teh from comment #3)
If you suspect this might be the case, I'd recommend you install the old
build, regsvr32 /u UAccCOM.dll, then reinstall the new build.
Correction: uninstall the new build, install the old build, regsvr32 /u
UaccCOM.dll, uninstall the old build, install the new build.

I can not get this to resolve. Getting no IAccessible2 response on two
different Windows 7 sp1 64bit systems.

When AOO ia2 r1538508 is open, I am only getting MSAA details for the Window
frame nothing from the AOO components.

Just to be sure, with r1538508 still installed, I first searched the registry

Only UAccCOM.dll was:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Installer\UserData\S-1-5-18\Components\0ABC43CE8D1C1E270D11495A5463AF98]
51B671DF629B09A4991526437BFBBBE1=C:\\Program Files (x86)\\OpenOffice
4\\program\\UAccCOM.dll

None the less, uninstalled (using Revo). Reinstalled the r1536988 build, and
had a slew of UAccCOM.dll registry entries. But Accprobe showed IAccessibile2
events firing, and NVDA fully rendered all AOO componnets.

Then ran regsvr32 /u against the UAccCOM.DLL.
Then full uninstall (using Revo with Advanced scan).

Reinstalled r1538508 build. Check the registry again and only the installer
component entry as above.

Before first use, clear per-user configuration from %APPDATA% for my account
and Administrator account. So starting as clean as I can--NVDA 2013.2 active.
Run first time as Administrator. Tools -- Options -- Accessibility and check
Support Assistive Technology tools. OK and File -- Exit. Launch again
verify check box had checked. CLose. Launch Accprobe.exe. Launch AOO as
Administrator, Accprobe only shows MSAA detail for the Windows frame. NVDA
announces only frame buttons--internal components all are unknown.

Same results if run with user account with Support Assistive Technology tools
checked.

Something is just not right.

Yes, by embedding a manifest into the dll and calling several actctx apis to
  activate. :)
I just submitted the code several hours ago. I think the build will be ready
  at noon tomorrow.
I tested with the 1538508 build. It doesn't register UAccCOM.dll but still
works for me, which is excellent. Thanks! Stuart is experiencing trouble
with it (bug 123640), but I can't reproduce this and suspect it might be due
to UAccCOM.dll not being unregistered by the previous build.

The only thing is that I don't see the importlib for oleacc.dll in svn yet.
I'm guessing you just haven't had a chance to do this yet, but it should be
done before this bug is closed.

Sorry for that. I took a day off yesterday. The importlib was added just now.
This defect will be closed after the next build is tested.

Navigator I Was Using

To recreate:

(1) Set it in the view that shows which cells print on which page

(2) Put image into top-left-most cell on page 1 from external program like
paint

(3) Use copy command on the image from within Calc

(4) Paste the image in the top-left-most cell on page 2

(5) Press f5 open navigator

(6) Expand Graphics list

(7) Double click on the items in the list, and you'll see that you can only
select the picture on page 2, you can only select the picture on page 1. What
seems like it should reference the picture on the second page only references
the picture on the first page.

I just uninstalled, cleaned up and then reinstalled and still can't reproduce
this. However, it occurred to me that the old OO build might have broken MSAA.
You can fix this by registering c:\windows\system32\oleacc.dll and
c:\windows\system32\oleaut32.dll. You may need to unregister and then register
if it complains that it's already registered.

[Bug 123641] Conditional Formatting selects only empty cells when changing background color

Rob Brunner, 11/5/2013:
OpenOffice Version 4.0.1
OS: Windows 8

I can confirm that this is an issue for his or her test file. The conditional
formatting rules also seem to fail if only non-empty cells are selected. Here
is a step-by-step way to recreate the issue:

1. Select a range of cells
2. Go to Format Conditional Formatting...
3. Add a background change

When applied, the background will fail to update if non-empty cells are in the
selected cell range.

Hi Stuart,

I doubt that the oleacc.dll is not registered correctly on your systems. This
issue shold be caused by the old UAccCOM.dll.

Solution: enter the system folder such as C:\windows\system32\ from console
and type regsvr32 oleacc.dll.

I never experienced such a problem. Might have been a WIN settings user error

So I close this one for now.
