Alexandre Vermeerbergen commented on STORM-1757:
Hello,
Yes, I am still interested in Beam Runner for Storm because I think that this
feature would help comparing the various stream processing engines against a
same application (without any need to rewrite the application).
Such comparison could benefit to Storm community because I feel that Storm is
appropriate for lots of throughput-driven use cases.
But maybe it could also be an incentive for Storm developers to try matching
other engines' capacities, as proposed in Beam's Runners matrix at:
https://beam.apache.org/documentation/runners/capability-matrix.

> This is a call for interested parties to collaborate on an Apache Beam [1]
> runner for Storm, and express their thoughts and opinions.
> Given the addition of the Windowing API to Apache Storm, we should be able to
> map naturally to the Beam API. If not, it may be indicative of shortcomings
> of the Storm API that should be addressed.
