[JAWS-Users] Re: Switching between versions of Jaws.

2006-12-25 Thread Walt Smith

Or just press Windows Key+R and type any of the following:

jaws7 (or jaws70--either is correct)
jaws71
jaws8

Note that there is no space in any of the above and that you could actually
do this beginning with one of the 6.X versions, although I don't recall
which one (6.0, I think). These shorthand items were specifically created so
that those who can't see the Run dialog and who didn't create hot keys can
easily and with minimal chance of error start a new version of JAWS.

Hi Ken,
You need to have a different hotkey assigned to each version.
To switch, just unload the version in use, with insert + F4, and use a
hotkey to load a different version.

Thanks for sending the steps for the different jaws versions .
What I did was for version 7, I put the 7 in for the hot key.

Contact Microsoft support for further assistance. OK button." When I press OK
button, again I am getting the message:
"Outlook Express could not be started because MSOE.DLL could not be initialised.
Outlook Express may not be installed correctly. OK button." When I press OK
button, the Window is closed. Please provide me necessary suggestions/guidance to
rectify the error.

[JAWS-Users] Re: Problem in Outlook Express

2006-12-25 Thread Walt Smith

Have you followed up on the hints that were provided in the first message?
Specifically, have you checked your available disk space? Also, do you
regularly compact your message folders and empty your Sent Items and Deleted
Items folders? Do you run a good, up-to-date anti virus program and perform
a full virus scan frequently? I'm afraid that there are so many
possibilities here that there's really no way that anybody will be able to
provide very much help.

[JAWS-Users] Re: Problem in Outlook Express

2006-12-25 Thread Victor Gouveia

Hi May,

I have experienced your problem before, and I tried the following:

First I tried to restart my system.

If that doesn't work, try running an anti-spyware program like No Ad-Aware, or
Ad-Aware, or Spybot, or some other program, when it's done, delete all items it
finds, then restart your system.

At that point, try to load Outlook Express. If it still doesn't work, run an
anti-virus program like Norton, or AVG. When that's done, if it finds a
problem, either try a repair of the affected file, or delete it completely from
your folder.

Please keep track of where the file is, in other words, it's location on your
hard drive.

I say this because sometimes the anti-virus program may not be able to delete
the file because it is being used, so in that case, the program will either
leave it alone, at which point you have to go in and delete the file manually
after you've shut all running processes down, then delete the file, or the
anti-virus program will quarantine it.

If that's the case, you'll have to go into your quarantined items folder and
delete it there.

Once that's done, try restarting your system again.

If Outlook Express still doesn't start up or load correctly, you'll have to
call Microsoft tech support and let them know that you can't start Windows in
safe mode to do a proper diagnoses of the system because Windows won't load up
Jaws while in safe mode.

At that point, Microsoft Tech support should give you a free tech support
ticket for free, as this should be something that you should be able to handle
if you are sighted, but since you aren't, then go ahead and pull the blind
routine on them.

They won't have any other choice but to honour your ticket.

Having said that, though, if you follow the steps I outlined above, with the
reboot, then the anti-spyware and anti-virus software, it should clear up your
system.

Hope this helps, and if it doesn't, I would do a Google search on the problem,
and see what you pull from that search.

You will have to unload one version and then start the other one. Best way
of achieving this is to set an hotkey for each version.

I have alt-ctr-j for one version and alt-ctrl-z for another version.

I've never been aware that Dot Net Framework was required for the online
JAWS help to function. I'm almost certain that I never had it installed
until I had to install it in order to update my video drivers last year. I
can't be of any assistance as to helping you figure out why it won't
install, provided you have administrator privileges on that computer.

Oh...and I've finished dinner here in Florida where we had tornado warnings
this morning. Tornado warnings on Christmas Day is something that I never
thought I'd experience.
