Yes, I spaced. I got two ways from the list. The Tech guy from the
Blind Commission didn't know it either. It was great to give him some

Another way to do this is to create a new message as usual, then insert
an item from the Insert menu. You can attach messages one at a time, or
use the multiple select method to select multiple items from a list.

Patti,
Not sure if this is what you want to do, but if you have several email
messages in a folder you are wanting to send to one or more people, you
can do this:
Highlight one of the email messages and do a control shift spacebar.
Let up the shift key, but keep the control key held down.
Now up or down arrow to the next message, and keeping the control key
held down, press the spacebar on the next message you want to send.
Repeat this process until all of the messages are selected.
Now do a control f to forward those messages.
You can send those to one or more people and the messages you have
selected will be sent as an attachment in the forwarded message.

find 52 outlook express with things like
outlook express 5-6
outlook express jss
outlook express rule wiz
outlook express 4
outlook
and a lot of 3 letter endings

On this computer that I use. I went in programs and found outlook express,
but on the computer I want OE on I just don't know what to do.

Hey John,
I did what you said, and all I got is
can't find outlook express.
I typed the name with capital O and E and still the same thing.
I used the search and it came up with a lot of different outlook express, but I
didn't know which one to open up.
I looked in programs to find Microsoft but I couldn't find that. Do I need
Microsoft office 2003 first?
Is there any thing else I could do?

Hi Patti,

I have gotten that error many times, although not in that exact same wording,
and in every case, I have cleared it up by running a good anti-spyware program.

It managed to catch it, and it turned out to be a Trojan, or severely dangerous
file, as, No-Ad-Aware labelled it.

If you can get your hands on this program, I would highly recommend it, as it
is completely Jaws friendly, and contains active shields you can use and
configure to your liking, and, as I said, all of the features are Jaws friendly.

Hope this helps.

Victor

Hi everyone,

I haven't figured out how to go on the website and read the older messages, so
I apologize for asking questions that have been asked before.

I am wondering how to turn the "bcc" field on, so that when I am sending an
email to several people, I have that option available to me; I believe that by
default, the only fields that are shown are the "to" field, "cc" field, and
"subject."

Thanks in advance for any help!.

[JAWS-Users] Re: thunderbird part 1 is up

Hey David,
I have thunderbird on a flash card, and I went to another computer, but what
thunderbird did is configured to their email. I couldn't get mine.
What am I doing wrong?
When I put it on my computer it did all the configuration for my computer.
I thought I could use this program, so when I go to my daughter's I would be
able to read my email without going on the internet, because that is hard to
get around on.

2007-04-19 Thread Patti

Do they have scripts that will tell who is on in Yahoo, like MSN does?
Where can you go to download Yahoo IM 7, because 8 will not talk when some
one is typing or Jaws won't say what they wrote?

Well I'm taking this program around the block right now so to speak, and
here are a couple of first impressions for anybody who's interested.
It's a bit more work to setup but that seems to be because this program
is much more fully featured than pop corn at least at first glance. I'm
far from making a final vote on it, but it does seem to do everything
and even more then I expected it would. It even has a spell checker
which is a plus for somebody like me for sure.

The best way to remove those temp files is to go to the control panel, Internet
opetions, general tab and clear history. Any files it remeoves following this
procedure is safe. I don't recommend deleting files directly from the temp
folder under your profile unless you know exactly what you are doing.

Lisa,

I don't advise deleting the Windows temp files, but they are mainly
located in the, c:\windows\system32 folder. Plus there may be others scattered
around in various applications. But again, unless you know what you are
deleting, I don't advise it.
The Internet temp files are located in, c:\documents and settings\(your
profile name)\local settings\temporary Internet files. This is where your temp
files and cookies are stored. Most of these files provide faster loading of
visited web pages. I don't see that it affects the performance of your PC by
removing them.

  Lisa,
Sorry it has taken me a couple of days to get back to you.
The, %temp% command will delete the temp files in the root directory.
It doesn't remove the Windows temp files or the Internet temp files.
As for the cookies, that is up to you whether you want to delete them
or not. Deleting them won't do anything to enhance the performance of your PC.

Hey Gang,
Every time I select something to my clipboard it says do you want to over ride
the clipboard.
I know it says that when you use windows c, but when you just select something
one time, it doesn't do that anymore.
What can I do to stop it saying over ride?

[JAWS-Users] Re: Email?

2007-04-09 Thread Patti

Hey David,
Here is what I'm going to do.
I am going to my daughter's for 3 weeks in another state, and she doesn't
have Jaws on her computer, so I'm going to download Jaws 8 on her computer
while I'm there, then when I leave she can remove Jaws.
I'm going to put popcorn on a flash card, so now all I have to do is plug
the flash card in her computer and I can read my email?
Can it be that simple?

Hi Patti it's John R. here

that problem isn't you causing it, that's the computer not communicating fast
enough and the computer is showing you it. just think of it as a spinning
wheel, when the computer is working correctly, then the plate is spinning well
and smoothly but when the computer slows down or just crashes this is the plate
slowing down and so information that is being moved like from one folder to
another can't move as fast and so they time out and that's what happends you
find basically when it can't recover that's the plate I'va stopping or has
stopt
the only ways around these are, doing a manual restart like you did, or
replacing the computer or letting the computer cool down for a while about 30
minutes because there is a problem a device driver means something that says to
the computer, you've got that there, use it like this or like that and it only
takes one of them to stop or crash then the computer throws a headache

speak to you later

Hi,
I think it might be very dusty inside your computer case. Dust acumulates very
quickly in there and it can effect the operation of your PC by blocking fans
and blocking the vents that let hot air from inside the PC escape and it can
cause other things to be effected.

is said. What can I do about this problem?
I got Jaws 8, windows XP home.
Thanks Patti

Hey Anita,
Did you make sure the check box is checked in Jaws basic to start up when you
start your computer?

If my memory is right,if you have your CD just put it into your drive, then
some where you should find a repair on the cd.
  Just click on that.
I'm not sure if it'll ask for prompts or just do it's own thing.
I never had to do it for myself.
  I wish you luck.

This does not make any sense but this type thing seems to happen with
computers. Have you tried to run a JAWS repair or uninstall and then reinstall
the software?

You can do it one of 2 ways.
If you just want to change it on the fly, do an insert 2. That will cycle
between characters, word, none and bothe characters and word, but it will not
stay that way.
If you want it changed permanantly, while in Windows Live, do an insert f2.
Arrow down to configuration and press enter.
Do an alt s for settings.
Press enter on, user.
Tab to, typing echo and press your arrow key to characters and press enter.
Do a control s to save and alt f4.

2007-03-17 Thread Patti

Thanks David I found Jaws 5.1 in where you said, and found the enu folder.
Do I need 5.1 anymore, and if not how do I get it out of there?
I wonder how many programs I have that I don't need.
If I clean some out will that make my computer run faster?
I'm running Jaws 8 home and window xp

Hello everyone,
This question is for Denny, or anyone else who can answer it. I was reading
the PC maintenance on the jaws users website, and I got to the check disd.
When I follow all of the steps it says I must restart my computer for the check
disc to run. It says that it will do the check disc before windows starts up.
I have my computer password protected, so I have to put in my password before
windows starts up. Will this interfear with running a check disc? Should I
follow those directions, or should I do something different since my computer
is password protected? I just wanted to clear this up first, so I don't screw
anything up. I just want to say thank you to Denny for writing that PC
maintenance page! The instructions are very easy to follow.
Take care,
Lisa

Hi Kerry,
thank you for responding to my question. I kind of figured that they had
changed Word 2007, but I had never used Word 2003 so I couldn't compare the
two. I will check on a upgrade for my jaws 6.

  Hi Lisa,

Sounds like you have a couple of problems.
First off, support for Microsoft office 2007 starts with version 8 I believe,
so I do think your version is too old.
Secondly, these they have changed the entire layout for office 2007. It
think now they call them ribbons instead of tool bars or some such thing.
Someone else on here may be able to give you some extra tips, but I think
you'll need to upgrade your jfw to get maximum use out of your new programme.

  Kerry

  Hello everyone,
When I write letters I have always used the HJ pad, and I found it quite easy
to use. I recently purchased and installed Microsoft office student and home
adition 2007 on my computer. This includes Microsoft word which I always
wanted to have because I thought it would be better then the HJ pad. I opened
up a blank document in Word to write a letter, and I hit my alt key, so I could
have a look at the menues. All it said was home tab press control tab to
switch pages. I have never used Word 2003 with jaws, but a friend told me that
the menues are totally accessible with jaws. I am running jaws 6, so I'm
wondering if my version of jaws is too old for this newest version of Microsoft
Word, or has Microsoft totally changed the way Word 2007 looks? When I rooted
jaws to PC I didn't find things like file, edit, view, tools, and format. If
anyone could help figure this out i'd really appreciate it!!! I have windows
XP home adition, and I'm running jaws 6.
  Take care,
  Lisa ,

Sounds like there was a sub folder created in the delete folder. If this did
happen left arrow and see if it closes the delete folder. If it does close the
folder, right arrow to open and arrow down and delete the sub folder.

Patty,
Jaws 4.51 doesn't have the explore my settings.
I think that was added in version 6.
But what you can do Gabriel is, If you made the changes in your default
dictionary, you could do a windows find for the default.jdf file. Just make
sure that it is in the 4.51 Jaws enu directory that you are copying from.
Once you have found it, copy it to the clipboard and then like Patty said, go
to your program, Jaws 8, explore Jaws settings an finally to, Explore my
settings.
Here you can paste that file you have in the clipboard.
If the dictionary is something other than the default, then do a windows find
for, *.jdf and then select the dictionaries you want.

Hey Gang,
I just went to oldversion.com and downloaded Yahoo 7.5 again.
This one works well with Jaws 8, so until there are scripts for Yahoo 8, I
guess I'll stay with this one.
Thanks for all your help.
I hope some one could write scripts for Yahoo so we can tell who is on line
like MSN has.

I'm running jaws 8, and I still have Jaws 7.1 on my computer, and XP home.

2007-02-22 Thread Patti
Ok Gang,
New problem I downloaded Yahoo instant messenger 8, and It doesn't talk when
some one writes me back, and when I'm done typing it doesn't tell me what I've
typed.
Is there more scripts that I need to download?
Is there scripts out there that will tell me who is on line like MSN does?
Please help, because my son is in Iraq and that is the only way we communicate.
Thanks for your help.
If I can't find anything out I'll guess I'll go back to Yahoo 7.

  Hey Gang,
I have a friend that has outlook 2003, and she is trying to get to her

When I hit control shift c it does bring up the contact page. So that is
handy to know. I have about five names I have put in as new contacts, but
when I am trying to find is the place where it stores people who I have sent
email to in the past, not just the sent messages but the list of all the
people I've contacted. It has them somewhere because in the to field of any
new message if I start typing the first name of someone it brings up their
address but I don't know where it's getting that from., That's what I am
looking for but I think that Boop or someone said you can't do that in
Outlook 2003 which is what this is so it may not be possible.

  Can you help her thanks?
