Yes, I get that there are 2 different serial numbers, the one I bought myself, and the one of 20 site license that we have at work. My question is, when you have a site license, can you not load that one license on 2 machines as long as they are not running simultaneously? If I might jump in here, the way I understand it is like this. A site license can be used up to as many silences that are available so long as it stays on the particular site that owns the silence in question. I'm sure Walt will correct any errors on my part, but that is the way I understand things. My wife works in a rehab training school that owns a site silence of jaws and window eyes both. [JAWS-Users] Re: Installing Jaws 7.0 on to another computer
I think this is correct, David. Sit licenses work totally differently, as best I understand it, from indiviedual licenses, so if you've got a private license, you can't use it on a machine that's tied into a system that's running a site license and vice-versa. I've never had any personal experience with a site license, but from the explanations I've heard, they're very different in terms of installing JAWS than an individual user license would be. - Original Message - From: David Ferrin [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: jaws-users-list@googlegroups.com Sent: Friday, December 08, 2006 7:12 AM Subject: [JAWS-Users] Re: Installing Jaws 7.0 on to another computer If I might jump in here, the way I understand it is like this. [JAWS-Users] Re: Installing Jaws 7.0 on to another computer
Hi, I just got a new computer at work, and wanted to have both systems up and running so that I could begin to learn to use the new computer, while continuing to be productive on my old computer, as well as transfer my data from one computer to the other. When I installed JAWS on the new computer, it told me that the serial number was already in use with another computer so I could only work in demo mode. I had to call FS to get them to release the old computer and allow me to use the serial number on the new computer. Then I was left with working in demo mode with the old computer. I was not happy about this. In the past I've been able to run my one copy of JAWS on my old computer while moving over to my new computer. Matter of fact, I thought we were permitted to use our personal copy of JAWS on more then one computer as long as we were not using the machines simultaneously.
