2006-12-31 Thread Sarah

Hello. you will need to go in the control pannel then to system then to
automatic updates andthen choose what you want from the cluster of radio
buttons.

hi all. just a few minutes ago I saw that I had updates to install
and I said ok but when they installed or started to I saw it was IE
7.0 and so I canceled it and it said that IE 7 was not installed.

What I would like to know is how do I make sure I know what I am
installing? I mien isn't there a way to set your updates so that they
wont download until you have a chance to look at them first? in short
I only want to download serten things and not everything. right now
all jaws says is that updates are ready for your computer click hear
to download and install these updates but it isn't telling me what
they are. Many thanks for any help with resolving this problem. from

[JAWS-Users] Re: ms updates

2006-12-31 Thread Denny Huff

Mitch,
When you get an update in the system tray, do this.
Press enter on the update,
It will bring up an install button, but instead of pressing enter on it, tab
a cople of time until you hear, express install and then down arrow one time
to custom install.
Tab to, I think it is details and press enter.
You should have a list of what the updates are.
If you don't want it, tab to cancel and then you will have a choice of not
being reminded of this update again. Just make your selection and tab to
OK.

Denny

[JAWS-Users] Re: ms updates

2007-01-01 Thread Walt Smith

That's correct, but from the description, it sounds like that's what's
already selected. The question was how to know; when there are a bunch of
updates indicated as being ready to install; what they are. The way to do
this is to open the dialog in the System Tray and instead of choosing
Install, choose Advanced. After doing this, detailed descriptions of each
update are displayed and you can choose to install or not install.
