[JAWS-Users] Re: reading web pages
Hello, what exactly does this website do? I don't understand how it can help to read web pages since I wouldn't be on the website when I am reading other pages. [JAWS-Users] Re: reading web pages
Lenny was, I think, looking for information on how to create accessible web pages not information on how to read web pages. http://www.w3.org doesn't do anything; it's the homepage of the main web standards body who specify technologies like HTML and CSS, with which much of the web is authored, and who devise best practices for accessibility. -- Benjamin Hawkes-Lewis Lisa wrote: Hello, what exactly does this website do? W3C is the main standards body for the World Wide Web and http://www.w3.org is their homepage, but it sounds like you really want their accessibility activity: http://www.w3.org/WAI/ and especially their web accessibility guidelines: http://www.w3.org/TR/WAI-WEBCONTENT/ and techniques: http://www.w3.org/TR/WCAG10-TECHS/ There is a new draft of the guidelines and techniques which is worth a look: http://www.w3.org/TR/WCAG20/ http://www.w3.org/TR/WCAG20/ You can also find more basic introductions listed at: http://www.benjaminhawkeslewis.com/www/web-design/getting-started#accessibility Also of possible interest is W3C's voice browser activity: http://www.w3.org/Voice/ -- Benjamin Hawkes-Lewis Ricque wrote: Hi Lenny, Try this: http://www.w3.org/ HTH, Richard Justice www.blind-computing.com - Original Message - From: Lenny McHugh [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: jaws-list jaws-users-list@googlegroups.com Sent: Tuesday, May 22, 2007 8:34 AM Subject: [JAWS-Users] reading web pages Hi All,A few days ago someone posted an address where information on how to make wep pages speech friendly was available.
