[JAWS-Users] Forwards Backwards in WMP 11

2008-02-18 Thread Mike Barbara Brunner
Hi All,

When listening to a .MP3 file with Windows Media Player 11 and you would
like to go ahead or back a little bit, How do you get the seek slider to
stay at a selected percentage? After I select a percentage and go back to
listening to the .MP3 file and want to go back or ahead I hear JAWS
increasing or decreasing the percentage in the background whenever I press
the left or right arrow keys. I am using control plus P to pause the file
then making my selection with the seek slider and then continuing with
control plus P. I am running XP, Office 2002,and JAWS 9.0. Any help will
be greatly appreciated.

Thank you very much,

Thanks Rick. Hopefully that fixed the problem. There were 2 items in the

that was the culprit.
I'll keep playing with it and see if Outlook keeps shutting down properly.

Re: [JAWS-Users] Forwards Backwards in WMP 11

2008-02-18 Thread Flor Lynch
If you wanted, you could silence JAWS by switching Screen Echo to None. The
Seek Slider is the thing that moves in percentage when you go back or
forward, thus it has to reflect that. (Percentage representing position in
time in the track, etc., being played.) 20% of 4 minutes would be 48
seconds. It thus should indicate to you how far back or forward you have
gone: so you might work with it. The seek slider has 20 percentage variable
positions in a playing track or episode.

Re: [JAWS-Users] Graphics file for AVG

2008-02-18 Thread David Ferrin
It is not needed in the internet security package, only for the stand alone
spy ware program. The package seems to have embedded anti spy ware in with
the anti virus side and they run together.

   Hi All,

I could have sworn I saw a graphics file for AVG and Jaws.

Does this currently exist, and if so, where can I get it for download?

I thought I had seen it on the Jaws user's web site, but I can't seem
 to
   find it there anymore.

[JAWS-Users] New Computer

2008-02-18 Thread Patti
Hey Gang,
I'm having a problem with this new computer E-Machine.
When I go to a place to fill out something Jaws is saying that the line is
blank, but it isn't. When I do a ctrl right arrow Jaws reads it. What can I do
to fix that?
On this machine it has office 2007. How can I go back to office 2003, because
all my work sheets and documents are in 2003?
Thanks for all your help.

Re: [JAWS-Users] New Computer

2008-02-18 Thread Leonard Morris
I have a similar experience. Sometimes when I am composing email using
outlook express the edit fields do not speak i.e. to: cc: subject:, the
fields just say edit. This can be annoying requiring me to unload and quit
jaws and load it again. And, even this does not always work.

What application are you not able to read the edit boxes in ?

 Hey Gang,
I'm having a problem with this new computer E-Machine.
When I go to a place to fill out something Jaws is saying that the line
 is
blank, but it isn't. When I do a ctrl right arrow Jaws reads it. What can
 I
 do to fix that?
On this machine it has office 2007. How can I go back to office 2003,
because all my work sheets and documents are in 2003?
 Thanks for all your help.

Re: [JAWS-Users] web site for information on spy ware

2008-02-18 Thread Bill Gallik
Yes, I concur with David. You likely have some type of insidious software
on your PC; a virus, a spyware or something akin to these. I suspect that's
why the problem started suddenly and although it may appear to be JAWS
causing the problem, it's likely just a matter of available computing power
and between JAWS and the culprit badware they are dragging the system ALMOST
to its' knees.
