Re: [JAWS-Users] Windows Vista Question
you can change the location o0f where your downloads go in the save window, before it saves to your desktop, which is most times the default location. The desktop can be accessed by pressling the windows key and M. then all you have to do is use your arrow keys to navigate to the file. chrissy Visit the JAWS Users List home page at: http://www.jaws-users.com Visit the Blind Computing home page at: http://www.blind-computing.com Address for the list archives: http://www.mail-archive.com/jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com To post to this group, send email to jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com To unsubscribe from this group, send an email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] For help from Mailman with your account Put the word help in the subject or body of a blank message to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Use the following form in order to contact the management team http://www.jaws-users.com/managers.php If you wish to join the Blind Computing list send a blank email to the following address: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Re: [JAWS-Users] extracting audio from a dvd to mp3
Hi, GoldWave does have a merge option whereby you can merge several audio files into one. I use it a lot when I'm creating podcasts or if I've accidentally extracted audio from DVD's in multiple chapters. As I don't have time to start the program, I'm not sure where the option is right now. Re: [JAWS-Users] Windows Vista Question
Hello Donnie, In the download dialog box where you have the file name and the Save button, the name of the current folder where downloads will go to is shown near the top of the window. If you route JAWS to PC, do a page up, and use the down arrow key, the download location will be shown a line or two from the top of the dialog box. Unless it has been changed then it is probably the user name followed by downloads that will be shown. To change the download location in Vista, the browse button in the same dialog box must be used. use tab key to move to the browse button and use spacebar. This will bring up the dialog box where you can browse to the folder where downloaded items should be saved. You will need to use shift-tab twice from the file name control to get to the list of files or folders in the currently active folder. If the file has gone to the downloads folder then use the Windows key to bring up the start menu and use down arrow to move off of the edit box. Press the first letter of the user name and press enter when the choice comes into focus. In the resultant list press D until you get to the downloads folder and press the enter key. The file should be in that folder. If not, just press the Windows key to bring up the Start menu and then type in the name of the file (or part of the name) in the edit box. After typing in the string of text start pressing down arrow and see if you can find the file. Sometimes it might seem like you can't arrow down past where you hear search the Internet or search everywhere but if you keep pressing the down arrow key a couple of times you will start hearing your results. Take care. Re: [JAWS-Users] Windows live messenger
Actually, JAWS works quite well with WLM, and there is little setting up to do, except for getting the passport, which involves going to a web site and filling out a form. You do need to choose a screen name, and your choice may be rejected if someone else has already chozen the one that you want. You do need to choose a password, but this works similarly to any other site where you have to choose a password. There is a capcha, but there is an audio alternative. Once you get the account, WLM with JAWS is pretty straight forward. Re: [JAWS-Users] Blank lines
Hi Donnie, I am running XP home Jaws 9.0.2169 and I just went in and checked the box in question and when reading your Email it would say blank whenever there was a blank line. Then I went in and unchecked it and Jaws didn't read blank whenever there is a blank line. I don't have Jaws 7 on my machine anymore so that is something I cannot check. Sorry about not stating what version of Jaws I am running in the original post. Take care.
