[JAWS-Users] have a weird thing going on, perhaps someone help me off list. See below: thank you.
I have purchased a printer: an hp 1320. My printer guy came, and the printer works, but tried installing the driver: cd rom. In the middle of install when the test page comes out, has error messages due to some program called scrubber. On the page on screen says it has to shut down. Cannot get installation to continue. Anyone know what to do? Thanks ahead of time. Need a hint: because it will cost me $85 an hour to get someone here to try to correct this. Thanks ahead of time. [JAWS-Users] Clipboard Content in Beta 2
Hi All, I never got around to trying the new Windows key plus Insert plus X to read the contents of the clipboard in the first Beta of JAWS 10 and gave it a try with Beta 2 and encountered something strange in OE 6 after I tried it. The keystroke seems to work, but, now when I compose a new message and hit escape, JAWS says "virtual cursor" and I'm not asked if I want to save the message and I'm still in the message body. I have to hit alt-F and close to get out of the message body and get the prompt asking me if I want to save the message. The OS is XP Home with SP2 and IE 7. Can anyone duplicate this? I also get this program is not responding, ETC quite often when shutting down correctly. There is nothing open that I can focus on. Could it be possible that something is running in the background like AVG or a component of Windows that a won't respond correctly. It shuts down without me having to press the end button though. Seldom does it speak a label.,that so that I know which program is being the culprit. A few times it said Windows Parking, whatever that is, but lately it doesn't say anything and it happens almost every night when I shut down. Re: [JAWS-Users] "No window is active"?
It seems to happen to me a lot when I shut down as well. I can see colors enough to know that the desktop is indeed what is in focus. I'm not sure what the reason is, but I simply have to alt tab to another open program to shut it down. Hi Devona, if you make a document a read only file, it means you can only read it and any changes you make will not be saved. as I was told earlier on the list, to make the document read only or to not make it read only, highlight the file, press alt enter to bring up the properties and uncheck the box that asks if you want to make the file read only. and check it if you want to make it read only. thanks to everyone who answered my question earlier. from andrew Original Message - From: "Devona Abel" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: Sent: Thursday, September 25, 2008 12:00 PM Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] making a document read only > That happens to me somehow but I don't mean to do it what does it mean > anyway and how did I too do it? > > Devona > - Original Message - > From: Andrew Head > To: Jaws users list > Sent: Wednesday, September 24, 2008 6:08 AM > Subject: [JAWS-Users] making a document read only > > > Hi all, > I'm just wondering, how do you make a document a read only file? > from Andrew > > Visit the JAWS Users List home page at: > http://www.jaws-users.com > Visit the Blind Computing home page at: > http://www.blind-computing.com > Address for the list archives: > http://www.mail-archive.com/jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com > To post to this group, send email to > jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com > To unsubscribe from this group, send an email to > [EMAIL PROTECTED] > For help from Mailman with your account Put the word help in the subject > or body of a blank message to: > [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Use the following address in order to contact the management team > [EMAIL PROTECTED] > If you wish to join the Blind Computing list send a blank email to the > following address: > [EMAIL PROTECTED] > > > > -- > > > > No virus found in this incoming message. > Checked by AVG - http://www.avg.com > Version: 8.0.169 / Virus Database: 270.7.1/1688 - Release Date: 9/24/2008 > 6:29 AM > -- next part -- > > No virus found in this outgoing message. > Checked by AVG - http://www.avg.com > Version: 8.0.169 / Virus Database: 270.7.2/1689 - Release Date: 9/24/2008 > 6:51 PM > Visit the JAWS Users List home page at: > http://www.jaws-users.com > Visit the Blind Computing home page at: > http://www.blind-computing.com > Address for the list archives: > http://www.mail-archive.com/jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com > To post to this group, send email to > jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com > To unsubscribe from this group, send an email to > [EMAIL PROTECTED] > For help from Mailman with your account Put the word help in the subject > or body of a blank message to: > [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Use the following address in order to contact the management team > [EMAIL PROTECTED] > If you wish to join the Blind Computing list send a blank email to the > following address: > [EMAIL PROTECTED] > > > > -- > No virus found in this incoming message. > Checked by AVG. > Version: 7.5.524 / Virus Database: 270.7.1/1687 - Release Date: 23/09/2008 > 6:32 PM > > Visit the JAWS Users List home page at: http://www.jaws-users.com Visit the Blind Computing home page at: http://www.blind-computing.com Address for the list archives: http://www.mail-archive.com/jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com To post to this group, send email to jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com To unsubscribe from this group, send an email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] For help from Mailman with your account Put the word help in the subject or body of a blank message to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Use the following address in order to contact the management team [EMAIL PROTECTED] If you wish to join the Blind Computing list send a blank email to the following address: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Re: [JAWS-Users] new features request for Jaws
Hi Devona, No, j-tunes does not come with jaws. J-tunes is a program that allows jaws to access itunes and speak what is on the itunes screen. It works very well. You will need to pay for it though, but in my opinion, it is worth the money. for more information about j-tunes, pricing and so on, go to: www.tandt-consultancy.com hope this helps, from Andrew - Original Message - From: "Devona Abel" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: Sent: Thursday, September 25, 2008 10:05 AM Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] new features request for Jaws > What is that? > > And does it come with jaws? > > Devona > - Original Message - > From: Andrew Head > To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com > Sent: Wednesday, September 24, 2008 1:33 AM > Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] new features request for Jaws > > > however, if you want access to the browser, you will need j-tunes > - Original Message - > From: "Chris Hallsworth" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > To: > Sent: Wednesday, September 24, 2008 4:47 AM > Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] new features request for Jaws > > > > Yes, full access to the iTunes store. > > > > -- > > Chris Hallsworth > > E-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > > MSN: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > > Skype: chrishallsworth7266 > > - Original Message - > > From: "David Ferrin" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > > To: > > Sent: Tuesday, September 23, 2008 5:42 PM > > Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] new features request for Jaws > > > > > >> Beta 2 has something in it regarding I tunes if memory serves me > >> correctly. > >> David Ferrin > >> Life is what happens after you've already made other plans. > >> - Original Message - > >> From: "Ming" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > >> To: "jaws" > >> Sent: Tuesday, September 23, 2008 10:29 AM > >> Subject: [JAWS-Users] new features request for Jaws > >> > >> > >>> hey!
